Preparatory prayer<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(to put me in the presence of God)<\/em><\/p>\n Lord, give me the grace to listen to your voice and to be able to follow it, with love, so that others may see a disciple of yours, not by personal merit but by your gift.<\/p>\n Gospel of the day<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(to guide your meditation)<\/em> At that time Jesus appointed seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead, two by two, to all the towns and places where he intended to go, and said to them, \u201cThe harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his fields. I am sending you out like lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry neither money, nor haversack, nor sandals, and do not stop to greet anyone on the road. When you enter a house, say, \u2018Let peace reign in this house. And if there are peace-loving people there, your desire for peace will be fulfilled; if not, it will not be fulfilled. Stay in that house. Eat and drink of what you have, for the laborer is entitled to his wages. Do not go from house to house. In whatever city you enter and are received, eat what they give you. Heal the sick who are there, and say to them, \u2019The kingdom of God is at hand.<\/p>\n Word of the Lord<\/em><\/p>\n Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Christ's mission is also our mission, He has called us, He has given us what we need to carry out our task as disciples and He has sent us to communicate and preach His message. If we are not united to Christ, from whom our mission emanates, all that we do will be in vain since He is the one who knows what people need, He knows the hearts of the people and can reach them in their innermost being so that, in this way, they convert their lives towards Christ.<\/p>\n Knowing what Christ's interests are, we can serve Him as His envoys because we know the artist who wants to sculpt His divine image in the work that He Himself created; thus, everything we do, say, think, will have the imprint of Christ, the master and Lord, and it will also be a way by which we will be recognized, because when people see us they will be able to say that it is Christ who lives in each one of us.<\/p>\n God knows whom he calls because he knows each one by name, like St. Luke, who later undertook the task of writing the life and works of Christ in his Gospel. We can say that it all began there where the disciples began to bring the peace of Christ to the vicinity, and then, how the evangelist Luke transmitted the message of Christ that we still continue to read to this day, keeping alive the memory of the facts of our salvation history.<\/p>\n \u00abThis effort must also embrace the broad world of the laity; the laity are also sent to the harvest, they are called to take part in the fishing, to risk their nets and their time in \u201ctheir multiple apostolate both in the Church and in the world\u201d. With all its extension, problems and transformation, the world constitutes the specific sphere of apostolate where they are called to commit themselves with generosity and responsibility, carrying the leaven of the Gospel. For this reason, I wish to welcome all the initiatives that you as pastors take for the formation of the laity - thank you for this - and not leave them alone in the mission of being salt of the earth and light of the world, to contribute to the transformation of society and the Church\u00bb.<\/em> Dialogue with Christ<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.<\/em><\/p>\n Purpose<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Propose a personal one.
