Renee <\/span>Pom<\/span>.<\/span>rich<\/span> is a director<\/span> international<\/span> of communication <\/span>of the Consecrated Women of the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi family<\/span>, shares a reflection on the subject<\/span> \u00ab<\/span>God and communication<\/span>\u00bb<\/span> based on an essay I had previously prepared<\/span>, <\/span>& <\/span>where<\/span> addresses one of the central characteristics of the divine nature: mercy.<\/span><\/p>\n

With both a theological and practical approach, it demonstrates how mercy not only defines the essence of God, but also the way in which he relates and communicates with humanity. This central theme <\/span>lo<\/span> developed through a detailed analysis of biblical texts, human experiences and theological reflections. <\/span>inviting us to <\/span>to contemplate the relevance of the divine mercy in <\/span>the<\/span> life <\/span>daily<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>m<\/span>isericordia as <\/span>e<\/span>sence <\/span>d<\/span>ivina<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

L<\/span>ercy is the axis of divine communication with humanity. This attribute, which is mentioned more than 300 times in the<\/span> Bible<\/span>, The book highlights how God seeks to draw close to his children in spite of their frailty and sins. Mercy is manifested in God's concrete actions, from the great narratives of the Old Testament to the acts of Jesus in the New Testament. Examples such as Abraham's intercession for Sodom and Gomorrah or the forgiveness of the woman caught in adultery show that mercy is a tangible expression of divine love.<\/span><\/p>\n

Crucially, divine mercy is not only an act of compassion, but also a reflection of God's justice. Although at first glance these qualities may seem contradictory, they complement each other to reveal the fullness of the divine nature. For example, in the story of Moses leading the Israelites through the wilderness, it is evident how God's justice corrects and his mercy restores, providing a perfect balance between the two qualities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mercy and <\/span>j<\/span>ustice: <\/span>u<\/span>o <\/span>e<\/span>quilibrio <\/span>d<\/span>ivino<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most profound points of the essay is the reflection on the tension between justice and mercy. <\/span>There is<\/span> biblical references<\/span> showing<\/span> that God's justice does not eliminate his mercy, but that both are manifested together. The forgiveness granted to the adulterous woman illustrates how Jesus balances justice with compassion, remembering her accusers: <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>He who is without sin shall enter <\/span>you<\/span>s, be the first to throw a stone at it.<\/span>\u00bb<\/span> (<\/span><\/span>Jn<\/span><\/span><\/em> 8,7). This example underlines that, although God is just, his primary desire is to redeem and restore sinners.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L<\/span>as <\/span>Sacred <\/span>Scripture gives greater prominence to mercy than to justice, with more than 300 mentions versus only 28 references to justice. This numerical imbalance reflects God's priority of communicating his love through acts of compassion. However, this does not mean that divine justice is ignored, but rather that it is applied with discernment to guide humanity toward redemption.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instruments of the <\/span>m<\/span>isericordia <\/span>d<\/span>ivina<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Another fascinating perspective is how God <\/span>makes use of<\/span> people as instruments of his mercy. In both the Old and New Testaments, there are numerous examples of how God's compassion is extended through his mercy.<\/span>ervidore<\/span>s. The story of the widow of Zarephath, who was blessed by her generosity toward the prophet Elijah, and the healing of Naaman through Elisha, highlight the role of those chosen by God to transmit his grace and goodness to others.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the New Testament, Jesus also engages his disciples in acts of mercy, as in the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, where the apostles distribute the food to the crowds. This pattern of divine communication demonstrates that mercy is not only a passive act of God toward humanity, but also a shared responsibility among believers. Acts of compassion performed by individuals not only reflect divine mercy, but also invite others to experience God's love.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Experiences <\/span>p<\/span>ersonal of <\/span>m<\/span>isericordia<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most poignant aspects is how <\/span>to <\/span>addresses the personal experience of divine mercy. Through stories such as the story of the prodigal son, <\/span>to<\/span> illustrates how each individual experiences God's love in a unique and transforming way. In this parable, the son, overwhelmed by guilt and shame, is welcomed with open arms by his father, who symbolizes God's unconditional love. This story highlights how divine mercy not only forgives, but also restores the sinner's dignity and identity.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a world where fairness often dominates narratives, <\/span>let us not forget<\/span> that mercy has the power to heal, restore and transform. By living a faith that balances justice and compassion, believers can reflect God's heart and communicate his love to the world in a more meaningful way.<\/span><\/p>\n
