Celebrating 50 years of consecrated life is not only to commemorate a special event, but to give thanks to God for a journey of self-giving and love. Luz Elena Mijares Noriega, <\/span>share <\/span>your<\/span>\u00a0path <\/span>marked by faith, dedication and the desire to bring Christ to the hearts of all those he encounters. His story is a testimony of his response to the call of Christ.<\/span>e God to follow the consecrated life<\/span>.<\/span> But <\/span>What made you decide to devote yourself to it?<\/span> How <\/span>have passed<\/span> What advice would you give to those who have the desire to follow a vocation?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Luz was born on October 22, 1952 in Mexico City to a very practicing Catholic family. Her parents, Francisco Mijares and Mar\u00eda Noriega, <\/span>le<\/span> instilled a strong faith along with her six siblings. From an early age, Luz was attracted to religious life, especially when she observed the work of the nuns in the Spanish hospital who cared for the sick.<\/span><\/p>\n

Studied at <\/span>a<\/span> nuns' school while his brother <\/span>Francisco<\/span> attended Cumbres Lomas, the first school in the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi family<\/span> at <\/span>the City of <\/span>Mexico. Since then,<\/span> the family's knowledge of the charism was increasing<\/span>.<\/span> Her mother was a member of the first group of ladies of the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi in Mexico City.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the age of 12, Luz began to participate in apostolic activities under the guidance of the <\/span>P<\/span>.<\/span> Gregorio L\u00f3pez, L.C.<\/span>.who became her spiritual director for a decade. It was with him that Luz discovered the power of prayer and service to others through spiritual retreats and formation activities that marked her vocational path.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her desire to consecrate herself grew stronger as the years went by. At the age of 15, she wanted to join the religious sisters of the school, but they asked her to wait. After completing her studies in Education, Luz traveled to Ireland in 1974 to perfect her English, not knowing that this trip would change her life forever.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In Ireland, Luz stayed with a family and started to visit the consecrated women of the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi who lived in a nearby house. Living with them allowed him to discover clearly that this was the path God was calling him to follow. His decision was confirmed soon after, during a trip to Rome in December 1974, where he attended an ordination to the priesthood. <\/span>and the opening of the Holy Year with Pope Paul VI.<\/span><\/p>\n

Upon returning to Ireland, Luz spoke with <\/span>Mari Carmen Perochena and P<\/span>.<\/span> Jos\u00e9 Antonio Alonso, L.C.<\/span>, who guided her in her discernment process. After overcoming difficulties such as <\/span>a phone and mail strike that made it difficult to communicate with his parents in Mexico, he finally received their approval and support to follow his vocation.<\/span><\/p>\n

On March 29, 1975, during the Easter Vigil of that Holy Year, Luz was consecrated <\/span>to God <\/span>in the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi. It was the beginning of a journey full of challenges, joys and moments of profound spiritual growth. <\/span>For<\/span> Light, the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi is a work of God that continues to grow, consolidate and lead many people to a personal encounter with Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

During these 50 years, Luz has dedicated her life to the formation of young people and adults in the faith, helping them to discover their vocation and to live it with joy and commitment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In this Jubilee year<\/span> of 2025<\/span>, Luz lives with gratitude and hope, certain that God continues to call amidst the challenges of a changing world. <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>God continues to call. We must bear witness to a life dedicated to Him, living our mission with joy and closeness to others.<\/span>\u00bb<\/span>, <\/span>comments<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab<\/span>The <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi offers a deep spiritual growth, seeking that Christ reigns in people's hearts, that they have a personal encounter with Christ, which leads them to live their Christian faith actively, with enthusiasm, love and the vocation to which they have been called.<\/span>\u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Luz encourages those who feel a vocational restlessness to open their hearts to the will of God. <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>If God calls you, it is worth giving yourself the opportunity to know. What I have received in these 50 years has been wonderful: God's love, his mercy, and the joy of seeing what God has been able to do in others.<\/span> without my merit, but<\/span> through me<\/span>\u00bb<\/span>, <\/span>says<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Luz continues her mission, inviting others to discover the beauty of a consecrated or lay life.<\/span>l<\/span> committed to God. <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>I would invite them to have a deep relationship with God, to let themselves be guided by the Holy Spirit and to be accompanied by a spiritual director who will help them discern their vocation.<\/span> in life.\u00bb<\/span>, he advises.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the definitive approval of the Federation's Bylaws, the <\/span>Regnum<\/span> Christi, Luz feels an absolute certainty that this work is of God, at the service of the Church and with the purpose that Christ may reign in all hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abTalking with one of my former students from the <\/span>College <\/span>Alpes de Saltillo, a member of the <\/span><\/span>ECYD<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, and of the <\/span>R<\/span>egnum<\/span> C<\/span>hristi,<\/span> I would say to myself <\/span>that<\/span> thanks to training <\/span>received<\/span> and spiritual directions, l<\/span>.<\/span> help<\/span>\u00f3<\/span> to grow spiritually and humanly, <\/span>\u201c<\/span>thanks to everything I have received, I have formed a<\/span>.<\/span> There have been problems and difficulties in a large family, <\/span>but<\/span> all <\/span>those ha<\/span> my marriage, but most of all to have God in our lives.<\/span>,<\/span> and this <\/span>has been <\/span>thanks to the <\/span>R<\/span>egnum<\/span> C<\/span>hristi\u201d<\/span>\u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Luz thanks God for these 50 years of dedication, with the certainty that its mission continues. <\/span>\u00ab<\/span>To live outwardly, centered on Christ, going out to meet and serve others, in communion with the <\/span>i<\/span>local Church and with the diocese in which we are located.<\/span>\u00bb<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
