The 3th General Assembly<\/a> Ordinary Assembly of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi was held in Rome from January 12 to February 14, with the participation of 43 delegates from 11 countries. During these weeks of work, prayer, and dialogue, the Assembly addressed governance decisions, refined aspects of its own law, and outlined future directions for the coming years. At the conclusion, the general director, Nancy Nohrden, who was reelected for the next six years, sent a letter<\/a> to the members of Regnum Christi, summarizing the main lessons learned along the way and the most relevant issues addressed. Along with this letter, the final communiqu\u00e9<\/a> which summarizes the conclusions of the Assembly.<\/em><\/p>\n

A common horizon for the coming years<\/h3>\n

Among the central points was the definition of a direction toward 2032, connected with the process of the General Convention of Regnum Christi and with the apostolic planning of the consecrated women. The work did not remain at the level of general ideas: it sought to specify which characteristics should be strengthened in order to live the mission with greater unity and clarity. In this context, the delegates emphasized a more solid interior life, a more decisive evangelizing presence, and communities with an explicit sense of mission, capable of contributing more clearly to the specific nature of this vocation in the service of the shared mission in Regnum Christi.<\/p>\n

Normative adjustments and greater precision regarding the charism<\/h3>\n

The Assembly reviewed some points of its own law that needed updating. Specific modifications were discussed and will be sent to the Holy See for evaluation and approval.<\/p>\n

One issue that required special attention was the incorporation of a new section in the Constitutions focused on the charism. The Assembly worked on this text based on a suggestion from the Holy See, with the aim of describing more clearly the specific contribution of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi to the life of the Church. The result was a consensus formulation that reinforces the understanding of their identity, their purpose, and their way of participating in the mission, in accordance with the charism they share with the whole of Regnum Christi.<\/p>\n

Poverty, service, and sustainability: criteria for concrete decisions<\/h3>\n

In continuity with what was established in 2020, the delegates advanced in a new stage of discernment on the living out of the vow of poverty, integrating contributions from the territorial assemblies and guidelines received during the Assembly. This work resulted in practical affirmations for living poverty, solidarity, and closeness to those most in need with greater coherence.<\/p>\n

Time was also devoted to reviewing a general plan for economic sustainability, drawn up on the basis of the territorial plans. The exchange focused on criteria for sustaining the mission in the long term without losing its own style: co-responsibility, subsidiary decisions, evangelical sobriety, and real solidarity with the Church and with Regnum Christi.<\/p>\n

Election of the general government<\/h3>\n

The Assembly then entered into the election process, accompanied by times of prayer and listening. On February 2nd, Nancy Nohrden was reelected as general director<\/a> for a second six-year term. For the next term, the Assembly determined that the general council<\/a> will be composed of four councilors: Perla Gonz\u00e1lez de la Fuente (Vicar General and First Councilor), Eugenia \u00c1lvarez Espinoza (Second Councilor), Kathleen Murphy (Third Councilor), and Camila Melo (Fourth Councilor). On February 4, Sonia Baldwin was elected General Treasurer for a second term.<\/p>\n

Priorities entrusted to the new government<\/h3>\n

At the end of the proceedings, the Assembly outlined two lines of action for the new government: to promote an institutional process of listening, analysis, and accompaniment regarding fraternal life in the communities; and to promote a more articulated growth of their own spirituality, with special attention to the sense of mission and the characteristic elements of this vocation.<\/p>\n

Meeting with Pope Leo XIV<\/h3>\n

On January 29th, the delegates of the General Assemblies of consecrated women and lay consecrated men participated in an audience with Pope Leo XIV<\/a>. The meeting emphasized the value of communion in the life and mission of Regnum Christi, the service proper to government, and the responsibility to care for the gift received in order to put it at the service of evangelization.<\/p>\n

Letter to Regnum Christi and final communiqu\u00e9<\/h3>\n

After the Assembly ended, the general director addressed a letter<\/a> to Regnum Christi in which she presented, in the first person, the process that had taken place and the main topics discussed.
