La hipocres\u00eda es la inmundicia que hoy en el Evangelio Jes\u00fas nos pide que eliminemos. De hecho, el Se\u00f1or no dice s\u00f3lo hacer obras de caridad, orar y ayunar, sino cumplir todo esto sin simulaci\u00f3n, sin doblez, sin hipocres\u00eda. Sin embargo, cu\u00e1ntas veces hacemos algo s\u00f3lo para ser estimados, para aparentar, para alimentar nuestro ego. Cu\u00e1ntas veces nos decimos cristianos y en nuestro coraz\u00f3n cedemos sin problemas a las pasiones que nos esclavizan. Cu\u00e1ntas veces predicamos una cosa y hacemos otra. Cu\u00e1ntas veces aparentamos ser buenos por fuera y guardamos rencores por dentro. Cu\u00e1nta doblez tenemos en nuestro coraz\u00f3n… Es polvo que ensucia, ceniza que sofoca el fuego del amor. Necesitamos limpiar el polvo que se deposita en el coraz\u00f3n. \u00bfC\u00f3mo hacerlo? \nLord, may I be able to see inside myself and discover the great things that You do for me and, in this way, may I be able to do them for others.<\/p>\n
\nFrom the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 6:1-6. 16-18
\nAt that time, Jesus said to his disciples: \u201cBe careful not to practice your works of piety before men, so that they may see you. Otherwise, you will have no reward with your heavenly Father.
\nPor lo tanto, cuando des limosna, no lo anuncies con trompeta, como hacen los hip\u00f3critas en las sinagogas y por las calles, para que los alaben los hombres. Yo les aseguro que ya recibieron su recompensa. En cambio, cuando t\u00fa des limosna, que no sepa tu mano izquierda lo que hace la derecha, para que tu limosna quede en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve lo secreto, te recompensar\u00e1.
\nWhen you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who like to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the squares, so that people will see you. I assure you that you have already received your reward. But you, when you go to pray, go into your room, close the door and pray before your Father, who is there in secret; and your Father, who sees the secret, will reward you.
\nWhen you fast, do not put on a sad face, like those hypocrites who neglect the appearance of their faces, so that people will notice that they are fasting. I assure you that you have already received your reward. But you, when you fast, put perfume on your head and wash your face, so that people will not know that you are fasting, but your Father, who is in secret; and your Father, who sees the secret, will reward you\u201d.
\nWord of the Lord.<\/p>\n
\nCreo que el Evangelio de hoy es bastante claro y podr\u00edamos reflexionar un poco, o, mejor dicho, detenernos un momento y pensar en estas palabras que Cristo nos dice en el Evangelio: \u00abTengan cuidado de no practicar sus obras de piedad delante de los hombres.\u00bb Y el peque\u00f1o examen de conciencia que podr\u00edamos hacer ser\u00eda: \u00bfC\u00f3mo ha sido mi caridad delante de Dios y delante de los hombres? \u00bfC\u00f3mo ha sido mi generosidad? \u00bfC\u00f3mo ha sido mi disponibilidad? Y as\u00ed podr\u00edamos ir metiendo otras preguntas. Si las respuestas son positivas demos gracias Dios que nos ha visto en lo secreto y en lo secreto nos recompensar\u00e1; y de no ser as\u00ed pedir la gracia a Dios para que cada d\u00eda tengamos una intenci\u00f3n m\u00e1s pura.
\nWe can do this after the example of Mary who did things for others in secret as at the wedding at Cana, and certainly on many other occasions.<\/p>\n
\nThis is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.<\/em><\/p>\n
\nPropose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.<\/em><\/p>\n
\nWe thank You, Lord, for all Your benefits, You who live and reign forever and ever.
\nAmen.<\/p>\n
\nThy Kingdom come!<\/p>\n
