\nChrist, our King, Thy Kingdom come!<\/p>\n
Preparatory prayer\u00a0<\/strong>(to put me in the presence of God)<\/em> Gospel of the day\u00a0<\/strong>(to guide your meditation)<\/em> \u201cA sower went out to sow his seed, and as he sowed, some fell along the path, and was trodden on, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell on stony ground, and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground and sprang up and yielded a crop a hundredfold. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.\u201d.<\/p>\n Then his disciples came and asked him, \u201cWhy do you speak to them in parables?\u201d He answered them, \u201cTo you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.<\/p>\n In them is fulfilled that prophecy of Isaiah which says:\u00a0They will hear again and again, but will not understand; they will look again and again, but will not see. For this people's heart has become dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and they have closed their eyes, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart; and turn, and I would heal them.<\/em><\/p>\n But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. Truly I tell you, many prophets and many righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.<\/p>\n Listen, then, to the meaning of the parable of the sower. To everyone who hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what is meant by the seed sown along the path.<\/p>\n Seed sown on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once accepts it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they immediately fall away.<\/p>\n What was sown among thorns represents the one who hears the word, but the worries of life and the temptation of riches choke it, and it remains unfruitful.<\/p>\n Instead, the seed sown on good soil represents those who hear the word, understand it, and bear fruit: some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.\u201d.<\/p>\n Word of the Lord.<\/p>\n Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel<\/strong> \u00abMay the announcement of the beauty, joy, and newness of the Gospel, both explicit and implicit, embrace all situations of the human adventure. Do not be afraid to bear witness to Jesus even when it is uncomfortable or inconvenient. But bear witness to him with your whole life, not with business-like methods that seem more like a mystical pursuit of proselytism than true evangelization. Do not forget that the protagonist of evangelization is the Holy Spirit. The Lord will know how to root that small seed, which is his name spoken in love by a missionary, and to transform it little by little into a strong plant of faith under whose shade many will be able to rest.\u00bb Dialogue with Christ<\/strong> Purpose<\/strong> Farewell<\/strong> Christ, our King! \nHoly Spirit, enlighten this moment of prayer so that it may be that good soil where the seed of your grace bears fruit.<\/p>\n
\nFrom the holy Gospel according to Matthew 13:1-23
\nOne day, Jesus left the house where he was staying and sat by the sea. So many people gathered around him that he had to get into a boat and sit in it, while the people remained on the shore. Then Jesus told them many things in parables, and he said:<\/p>\n
\nBlessed apostles who, after hearing a parable and not understanding, simply, when people were leaving, approached Jesus and asked him to explain. What a delight to be able to do this! We can too, according to the faith we have in Jesus.
\nJesus, before performing his miracles, wanted to see the faith of that person. He would ask them if they believed He could heal them. He does the same with us. If we believe that He can explain, speak, heal, cure, love, save us... He will do it, it's that simple for Him. Although for us it implies asking with faith.
\nSo Jesus begins to explain the parable of the sower to them. And he explains the situation of each seed that the sower has thrown. First, the one that falls on rocky ground, then the one that falls among thorns, and finally, the one that falls on good soil.
\nThe Sower goes out to sow himself. When he explains the parable, in all three cases he refers to someone who \u00abhears the word.\u00bb What is \u00absown on rocky ground\u00ab refers to the one who \u00bbhears the word.\" He, literally, is the Word. Jesus is sowing himself. He wants to sow himself in hearts, in our hearts. He wants to grow there. He warns us of the evils that take us away from him. But he doesn't want to be separated from us. He wants us to water and work the soil so that it may be good, and when the seed falls, he himself may grow and dwell with us. He loves us so much and repeats it to us in many different ways. He only wants to love us and be with us.<\/p>\n

\nThis is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.<\/em><\/p>\n
\nPropose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.<\/em>
\nSuggest I remove what most distances me from Jesus and prevents Him from being with me.<\/p>\n
\nWe thank You, Lord, for all Your benefits, You who live and reign forever and ever.
\nAmen.<\/p>\n
