Del santo Evangelio seg\u00fan san Mateo 9, 32-38<\/p>\n

En aquel tiempo, llevaron ante Jes\u00fas a un hombre mudo, que estaba pose\u00eddo por el demonio. Jes\u00fas expuls\u00f3 al demonio y el mudo habl\u00f3. La multitud, maravillada, dec\u00eda: \u201cNunca se hab\u00eda visto nada semejante en Israel\u201d. Pero los fariseos dec\u00edan: \u201cExpulsa a los demonios por autoridad del pr\u00edncipe de los demonios\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jes\u00fas recorr\u00eda todas las ciudades y los pueblos, ense\u00f1ando en las sinagogas, predicando el Evangelio del Reino y curando toda enfermedad y dolencia. Al ver a las multitudes, se compadec\u00eda de ellas, porque estaban extenuadas y desamparadas, como ovejas sin pastor. Entonces dijo a sus disc\u00edpulos: \u201cLa cosecha es mucha y los trabajadores, pocos. Rueguen, por tanto, al due\u00f1o de la mies que env\u00ede trabajadores a sus campos\u201d.<\/p>\n

El demonio que dejaba al hombre callado se fue. Balbuceos, gemidos y gritos se escucharon mientras este hombre daba sus primeras palabras. Este evento le cambi\u00f3 la vida, y por fin har\u00eda escuchar su voz, por fin lo que pensaba en su interior ser\u00eda claramente expresado.<\/p>\n

Muchas veces hay cosas que nos impiden hablar con Dios y con los dem\u00e1s, incluso hasta con nosotros mismos. Son esos demonios que atan nuestro entendimiento de mil maneras diversas. Por ejemplo, cuando queremos hacer un cumplido o una correcci\u00f3n, cuando queremos expresar lo que sentimos y nos calla con la verg\u00fcenza. Lo que nos ense\u00f1a el Evangelio hoy es que los demonios tienen experiencia en enmudecer a las personas porque, call\u00e1ndonos, rompen la comuni\u00f3n. \u00a1Cu\u00e1ntas veces, incluso, nos callan frente a Dios haci\u00e9ndonos creer que nuestra indignidad es motivo para estar mudos!<\/p>\n

El demonio busca miles de manera de atar nuestros labios, pero la lecci\u00f3n m\u00e1s importante de hoy es que Jes\u00fas tiene el poder de abrirlos. Basta acercarnos a \u00c9l y pedir su ayuda, aunque sea con se\u00f1as, cuando no podemos hablar. Jes\u00fas est\u00e1 siempre dispuesto a escuchar nuestras palabras.<\/p>\n

\u00abPor esta raz\u00f3n afirm\u00f3 que \u201cun cristiano no puede quedarse quieto\u201d, puesto que la vida cristiana es \u201chacer camino, siempre\u201d, tal como lo dijo al comentar las palabras de Jes\u00fas en el Evangelio: \u201cA lo largo del camino, prediquen, diciendo que el Reino de los cielos est\u00e1 cerca. Curen a los enfermos, resuciten a los muertos, purifiquen a los leprosos, expulsen a los demonios\u201d. Esta es, pues, la misi\u00f3n y se trata de \u201cuna vida de servicio\u201d. La vida cristiana es para servir. Es muy triste cuando encontramos cristianos que al inicio de su conversi\u00f3n o de su conciencia de ser cristianos, sirven, est\u00e1n abiertos a servir, sirven al pueblo de Dios, y despu\u00e9s terminan sirvi\u00e9ndose del pueblo de Dios. Esto hace mucho mal, tanto mal al pueblo de Dios. La vocaci\u00f3n es para, \u201cservir\u201d, y no para \u201cservirse de\u201d.\u00bb<\/p>\n

En este d\u00eda voy a pedirle a Jes\u00fas que me ayude a distinguir cu\u00e1ndo callo por prudencia y cu\u00e1ndo por temor o verg\u00fcenza. Si es por prudencia, permanecer\u00e9 as\u00ed; pero si se trata de hablar con un buen fin, pero me lo impide la verg\u00fcenza, dir\u00e9 lo que pienso con la ayuda de Jes\u00fas.<\/p>\n
