En aquel tiempo, entr\u00f3 Jes\u00fas en un poblado, y una mujer, llamada Marta, lo recibi\u00f3 en su casa. Ella ten\u00eda una hermana, llamada Mar\u00eda, la cual se sent\u00f3 a los pies de Jes\u00fas y se puso a escuchar su palabra. Marta, entre tanto, se afanaba en diversos quehaceres, hasta que, acerc\u00e1ndose a Jes\u00fas, le dijo: \u201cSe\u00f1or, \u00bfno te has dado cuenta de que mi hermana me ha dejado sola con todo el quehacer? Dile que me ayude\u201d. El Se\u00f1or le respondi\u00f3: \u201cMarta, Marta, muchas cosas te preocupan y te inquietan, siendo as\u00ed que una sola es necesaria. Mar\u00eda escogi\u00f3 la mejor parte y nadie se la quitar\u00e1\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jes\u00fas claro que estaba agradecido con el servicio atento de Marta. Pero hab\u00eda algo en la actitud de Mar\u00eda que no pod\u00eda ni ignorar ni negar\u2026 Algo que qued\u00f3 resumido como \u00abla mejor parte\u00bb. \u00bfEn qu\u00e9 consiste esta \u00abmejor parte\u00bb?<\/p>\n

Desde el momento del bautismo estamos consagrados a Dios. Hemos quedado especialmente escogidos para servirle y darle gloria con nuestras vidas. \u00a1Y cu\u00e1nto gusto le da al Se\u00f1or ver la entrega tan generosa de muchos cristianos! Le da una alegr\u00eda inmensa todo ese n\u00famero de hombres y mujeres que ayudan en la parroquia, en misiones, en obras de caridad\u2026<\/p>\n

Pero, por otro lado, \u00bfqu\u00e9 es mejor: servir a Cristo o estar para Cristo? Marta perdi\u00f3 de vista por un momento la Persona de Cristo, rodeada como estaba de actividades y de cosas. Porque existe el riesgo de olvidar que nuestra vida cristiana tiene un primer lugar: el amor personal. Dios se hizo un hombre como nosotros no s\u00f3lo para hacer muchas cosas. \u00c9l, sobre todo, quiere vivir con nosotros, estar con nosotros. Y espera que nosotros tambi\u00e9n vivamos cerca de \u00c9l, por encima de lo que hacemos.
\nCristo no es s\u00f3lo un ideal abstracto o un \u00abjefe de empresa\u00bb. \u00c9l quiere ser un amigo, el mejor amigo. El primer lugar lo tiene el rato que pasamos para \u00c9l; el servicio que le hacemos es lo que sigue naturalmente de una amistad. \u00bfEs Cristo una persona real para m\u00ed? \u00bfLe doy el primer lugar a mi relaci\u00f3n con \u00c9l?<\/p>\n

\u00abEn su obrar hacendoso y de trabajo, Marta corre el riesgo de olvidar \u2014y este es el problema\u2014 lo m\u00e1s importante, es decir, la presencia del hu\u00e9sped. Y al hu\u00e9sped no se le sirve, nutre y atiende de cualquier manera. Es necesario, sobre todo, que se le escuche. Recuerden bien esta palabra: escuchar. Porque al hu\u00e9sped se le acoge como persona, con su historia, su coraz\u00f3n rico de sentimientos y pensamientos, de modo que pueda sentirse verdaderamente en familia. Pero si t\u00fa acoges a un hu\u00e9sped en tu casa y contin\u00faas haciendo cosas, le haces sentarse ah\u00ed, mudo \u00e9l y mudo t\u00fa, es como si fuera de piedra: el hu\u00e9sped de piedra. No. Al hu\u00e9sped se le escucha\u00bb.<\/em>
