In the first months of 2026, the Regnum Christi lives a significant time for their life and mission. In continuity with the common path discerned in the General Convention 2024, the Legionaries of Christ have their General Chapter and the consecrated women and men and the consecrated laity have their respective General Assemblies, spaces in which each vocation, convoked in a representative manner, assumes the responsibility of guarding the charism, rereading the road traveled and electing those who will exercise the service of government. The fruits will offer their own accents and modes of impulse in tune with the shared mission that orients the whole of the Regnum Christi in these times.
The General Chapter of the Legionaries of Christ began January 20, 2026. Ordinarily held every six years, it is the moment when the Congregation, represented by its capitular delegates, assumes, in a collegial manner, responsibility for the entire institute.

The Code of Canon Law states that the General Chapter, «representing the whole institute, should be a true sign of its unity in charity,» and entrusts to it the defense of the patrimony received and its adequate renewal, as well as dealing with matters of major importance (can. 631 § 1).
In this context, the General Chapter also has the task of electing the new Director General and his Council, reviewing the course of the previous six years and determining the orientations that will mark the life and mission of the Congregation in the coming years. The Constitutions of the Legionaries of Christ emphasize, in the same vein, that the Chapter possesses supreme authority over the Congregation (CLC 124.1°).
«This Chapter will begin at the end of the Jubilee Year of Hope. In a way, this Jubilee has been preparing our hearts, reminding us that it is the Lord Jesus who holds the reins of the history of all humanity and also of our own little history. God is always at work, even at this moment. It is consoling and motivating to know that the Risen One accompanies us and that we can always count on Him. The great challenge is to be attentive to recognize the seeds that God is already making flourish in the Church and in the world. Regnum Christi, in order to support his work of salvation as his friends and collaborators. May the Chapter be a time of listening and docility to the Lord Jesus. Zanetta, L.C., delegate for the General Chapter of the Legionaries of Christ).

This is also the horizon for the III General Assembly of Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, which beganó January 12, 2026. It is the space in which the Society of Apostolic Life assumes, in a representative and collegial way, its responsibility for life, fidelity to the charism and common mission.

The General Assembly promotes the processes of renewal, elects the Director General and the General Council and deals with the most important matters of the Society. Ordinarily held every six years, its decisions, the fruit of prayer and community discernment, are binding on all consecrated women.
«I recognize a call that certainly transcends the preparation for the assembly... and it is the invitation to continue to be amazed at what the Lord has done and continues to do in my life and in our lives as Regnum Christi. He is a great farmer. He knows how to sow, care for and harvest... From this certainty I feel the call to care, together with my closest community of apostles, for the wheat that He gives us and to share, together with them, His gift with all those who want to receive it... “Go to the crossroads and invite everyone you meet to the banquet!” (Mt 22,9)» (Maida Ureta del Real, delected for the General Assembly of the Consecrated Women of the Regnum Christi)

«I live this journey towards the assembly with a deep desire to be a source of communion. Our vocation impels us to build bridges between the branches, to live the charism together and to accompany the people of God from the closeness of daily life. There, in the simple and sometimes hidden, we always seek to extend the Kingdom of Christ and help communities of apostles to sprout in communion with the whole world. Regnum Christi» (Ricardo Vélez, delegate for the General Assembly of Consecrated Laity).
