Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Padre bueno, vengo a tu presencia para escuchar tu voluntad. ¿Qué quieres de mí?¿Cuál es tu voluntad para mi vida? Dame, Padre mío, fuerzas para cumplir lo que me pides. Es muy fácil decir “sí, quiero lo que Tú quieres” pero la verdad es que cuando viene la prueba o me pides un poco más de sacrificio me olvido rápidamente de mis buenos deseos y comienzo a quejarme. Hoy vengo ante ti para pedirte perdón por lo poco comprometido que soy y para pedirte tu fuerza pues ¿qué es el hombre sin ti? Padre, en ti confío.

From the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 21:28-32
At that time Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people, “What do you think about this? A man who had two sons went to the first and ordered him, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today. He replied, ’I am coming, sir, but he did not go. The father went to the second and said the same thing. He said to him, ‘I do not want to go,‘ but he repented and went. Which of the two did the father's will?’ They answered him, ”The second.“ Then Jesus said to them, ”Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes have gone ahead of you on the way to the kingdom of God. For John came and preached the way of righteousness, and they did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes believed him. You, even after you have seen, have neither repented nor believed in him.“.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
“No quiero”. ¡Cuántas veces nos topamos con la pereza o la desgana en nuestra vida! Sin duda que más de una vez hemos dicho a familiares, amigos, compañeros de trabajo estas dos sencillas palabras. Sí, es muy triste y más de alguno podrá pensar muy mal de nosotros cuando actuamos así. No importa. Si nunca tuviésemos momentos de cansancio o enfado dejaríamos de ser personas de carne y hueso. Y no importa, sobre todo, porque nuestro Padre Dios nos ama independientemente de lo que podamos hacer mal.
Siempre hay errores. Al mismo tiempo está siempre la posibilidad de decir una palabra aún más sencilla y es: “perdón”, “lo siento”. He aquí la belleza. La posibilidad de, como diría Dickens en boca del señor Carton, “volver a la lucha, de comenzar de nuevo, de dejar el vicio y la sensualidad y llevar a un final victorioso el abandonado combate” (Historia de dos ciudades).
We can all fall, and we will all put down the gun at some point. But no one is made to lie on the ground, no one is made to live in sin. We are all weak and each one of us knows well the foot on which he limps. In the same way, everyone has his strengths and knows them very well. If we are weak, it is so that someone can help us when we lack strength, and if we are strong, it is to offer our arm to another.
I think countless times about the image of the jigsaw puzzle. You can want a world where everyone thinks the same way you do, where everyone goes in the same direction as you. The puzzle, on the other hand, has many pieces and each one is unique. What happens when you lose one and it is the one that is missing to finish? Everyone starts to get anxious and to look everywhere. The Father loves everyone for what they are, with their pluses and minuses. He has thought of each one of us from all eternity. We are called to be brothers, children of the same Father.
«Jesús se dirige a los jefes de los sacerdotes y a los ancianos del pueblo y eso quiere decir a los que tenían la autoridad, la autoridad jurídica, la autoridad moral, la autoridad religiosa. Pero no tenían memoria porque habían olvidado incluso los diez mandamientos de Moisés por esa construcción de la ley intelectualista, sofisticada, casuística, esta ley que se volvió como un becerro de oro -otro becerro de oro- en lugar de la ley de Moisés. Today I will go to mass with the illusion of approaching the Father, preferably with my family, to give thanks for all the good things I have received.
