Religious Centers
Legionaries and consecrated women of Regnum Christi run the Magdala Pilgrim Center in Galilee and are assigned to care for the Notre Dame Center in Jerusalem.
Magdala stretches along the picturesque coast of Galilee, with origins dating back to the Hellenistic Period. In 67 AD, it emerged as a thriving fishing community under Roman occupation. Its prime location on the ancient Via Maris trade route and its proximity to key sites such as Nazareth and Capernaum made Magdala a link of commerce and life.
The discovery of Magdala in 2009 revealed a world frozen in time, where a 1st century AD Synagogue stands out, providing a unique and exceptional insight into the Jewish religious practices of the time. Among the great treasures of the synagogue is the Magdala Stone, considered an archaeological find of great importance that underlines the historical and religious significance of the site.
