Regnum Christi International

Laity of the Regnum Christi

We are called to make Christ's Kingdom present and we seek to have a daily relationship with Him - who is the Kingdom in person -, to be His apostles, through the Word, the sacraments and personal and community prayer.

Our mission is to make Christ's Kingdom present in the world so that it may be a worthy home in which everything contributes to the glory of God.

We lay people seek to prolong the presence of Christ in the midst of the world and to transform human realities, especially family, professional and social life, in an evangelical way.

We lay people contribute specifically to the mission of Regnum Christi:

Being an apostle as a layperson in Regnum Christi

We live with our families, who are our main priority. We go out to meet people to proclaim the Gospel and bring its light to society.

We personally accept a divine vocation to live our baptismal commitment by prolonging the presence of Christ in the world, seeking a daily encounter with Him in prayer and giving witness

We develop the lifestyle of the apostle of the Kingdom that is is made up of 5 elementsteam life, spiritual life, formation, apostolate, and accompaniment

We are imbricated in the life of our dioceses and parishes, where we bring the charism of Regnum Christi.

Learn how the laity live the spirituality of Regnum Christi

The lay member of Regnum Christi conceives the spiritual life as the progressive development of the Trinitarian life in him, which leads him to be configured to Christ. Therefore, it is lived as a dynamic relationship of love with God that is nourished by the sacraments, the Word, liturgical life, prayer and the exercise of the theological and moral virtues.
Spiritual life permeates and harmonizes all areas of his life (cf. RFA 3-5).

Some lay members of Regnum Christi experience a call from God to make a special commitment of surrender and availability to the Lord to further the life and mission of Regnum Christi. This is done through the promise of dedication. In response, they assume a more demanding path of prayer and particular formation and commit themselves to become actively involved with their prayer, talents, time and assets. Those who accept this call offer valuable support to the sections and their apostolates in a particular way through their prayer, dedication and availability (cfr. RFA 24).

Participation in the Regnum Christi Government

The laity are also co-responsible in the government of Regnum Christi through their participation in the direction of the Regnum Christi Federation and in the definition of their own way of living the charism. They participate in the Territorial and General Convention, in the Territorial and General Board of Directors and in the sections.

Permanent Missionaries

We are lay members of Regnum Christi, married or single, who, in response to our call to holiness through a permanent missionary vocation, commit ourselves to offer our availability to Christ to be sent to the apostolic destinations required by the mission. We live our missionary commitment inserted in temporal realities.

We form a community of faithful associates of Regnum Christi in which we share the same vocation. We meet as a network under the authorities of the Federation.

The work of the Permanent Missionary is an essential part of his lay missionary vocation and, therefore, he carries it out with apostolic awareness and projection. The apostolic assignment may consist of:

  1. a specific activity or responsibility within a section, locality or apostolic work
  2. A concrete sector of evangelization such as faith diffusion, education, youth, family, culture, bioethics, communication, economy, art, etc.
  3. A specific service to the universal or particular Church.

The Regnum Christi Collaborator

The collaborator is a lay member of Regnum Christi who dedicates one or more years of his life to serve the Church apostolically full time and free of charge in Regnum Christi. He is a young Catholic who, by virtue of his baptism, desires and seeks to experience Christ, to allow himself to be transformed by Him, and to strive to live and witness his Catholic faith with coherence.

His mission is to collaborate with the Church in the new evangelization through the charism, works and apostolates of Regnum Christi. To this end, he seeks to prepare and train himself as a formator, with the means offered to him and to work intensely as an apostle of Jesus Christ to make his Kingdom present.
