About Design
The illustration for this novena depicts the pilgrim Church walking united towards Christ, with its gaze fixed on his Sacred Heart. In the center appears the resurrected Jesus, showing the wounds of his Passion and his open Heart, the source of the love with which he loved us, to the point of giving his life for us, and from which flows the grace that sustains and guides the journey of the Church. His open arms evoke the Gospel invitation: «Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest» (Mt 11:28), as well as the call to «remain in my love» (Jn 15:9), a theme that runs through the entire novena.
The composition shows a common pilgrimage towards Him. The different groups represent the diversity of the People of God and the Regnum Christi walking together, as a spiritual family within the great ecclesial communion. Mary, Saint Joseph, and the saints remind us that the Church never walks alone. Inspired by the image of the Good Shepherd, the illustration evokes the Lord leading his people towards the pastures of rest and the rivers of living water (Ps 23), inviting us to return to the Heart of Christ, entrust our burdens to Him, and learn from Him, «meek and humble of heart.».

Remain in His Love

GOSPEL (Matthew 11:28) - (John 15:4-5)
Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he bears much fruit.
REFLECTION
The Heart of Christ does not want us to live separated from Him; it invites us to return to His presence again and again, seeking us on our path like the disciples at Emmaus (cf. Lk 24:13) and also at the “wells” where we go to quench our thirst, like the Samaritan woman (cf. Jn 4:5). No matter where we find ourselves, we know that «his open Heart precedes us and awaits us unconditionally, without requiring any prerequisite to be able to love us and offer us his friendship: “he loved us first” (1 Jn 4:10).» (Dilexit nos, n. 1)
CLOSING PRAYER
Lord, we ask that when we walk paths that lead us away from you and seek to quench our thirst for happiness in broken cisterns (cf. Jer 2), you break into our lives, so that, returning to the love of your Heart, we may choose you as the only necessary one and direct our entire lives to remaining in you, and you transform us into witnesses of your love.

GOSPEL (Jn 7,37-39)
On the last day, the most solemn day of the festival, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, “Whoever is thirsty, let him come to me; and whoever believes in me, let him drink.” As Scripture says, “Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” He was referring to the Spirit that those who believed in him were to receive.
REFLECTION
«Let us now turn our eyes to the Holy Spirit, who fills and burns within Christ's Heart. For, as Saint John Paul II said, the Heart of Christ is “the masterpiece of the Holy Spirit.” (…) It is the Spirit who helps us grasp the richness of the sign of Christ's pierced side, from which the Church was born.» (Dilexit nos, n. 75) «His wounded side, which we interpret as his heart, is filled with the Holy Spirit, and from it He comes to us as rivers of living water: “The source of the Spirit is entirely in Christ.” But the Spirit we receive does not distance us from the Risen Lord; rather, it fills us with Him, because by drinking of the Spirit, we drink of Christ Himself.» (Dilexit nos, n. 102)

REFLECTION
How can we not recognize in the Eucharist the gratuitous, humble, and approachable love of Christ's Heart. It is at the foot of the Eucharist that He receives us to rest in Him (cf. Mt 11:28), where He nourishes us for the journey and ignites our hearts (cf. Lk 24). It is through the Eucharist that we are transformed with Jesus into broken bread, shared for our brothers and sisters.

Jesus Christ, that «in the midst of the whirlwind of the current world and our obsession with free time, consumption, and distraction, with phones and social media, we do not forget to nourish our lives with the strength of the Eucharist.».

REFLECTION
Permanecer en Cristo es también permanecer a la escucha de su Palabra, es dejarnos interpelar diariamente por la lectura y meditación de la Sagrada Escritura dejando que nos ilumine, nos renueve y discierna nuestros pensamientos y revele las intenciones de nuestro corazón (Cfr. Hb 4,12).
Él mismo nos dijo: «Si ustedes permanecen fieles a mi palabra, serán verdaderamente mis discípulos, conocerán la verdad y la verdad los hará libres». (Jn 8,31-32)

Señor Dios, que has querido que el Corazón traspasado de tu Hijo sea para nosotros fuente de misericordia y de gracia, te pedimos que nos enseñes a permanecer en Él, pues su Corazón «es el núcleo viviente del primer anuncio. Allí está el origen denuestra fe, el manantial que mantiene vivas las convicciones cristianas y la fuente detodo amor y de toda gracia». (Dilexit nos, n. 32)
GOSPEL (Jn 3, 3-7)
Jesús le respondió: «Te aseguro que el que no renace de lo alto no puede ver el Reinode Dios». Nicodemo le preguntó: «¿Cómo un hombre puede nacer cuando ya es viejo? ¿Acaso puede entrar por segunda vez en el seno de su madre y volver a nacer?». Jesúsle respondió: «Te aseguro que el que no nace del agua y del Espíritu no puede entrar en el Reino de Dios. Lo que nace de la carne es carne, lo que nace del Espíritu es espíritu. No te extrañes de que te haya dicho: «Ustedes tienen que renacer de loalto».
REFLECTION
«Los anuncios mesiánicos fueron tomando la forma de un manantial de agua purificadora: “Los rociaré con agua pura, y ustedes quedarán purificados […] pondré en ustedes un espíritu nuevo” (Ez 36,25-26). Es el agua que devolverá al pueblo una existencia plena, como una fuente que brota del templo y derrama vida y salud a su paso: “Vi que a la orilla del torrente, de uno y otro lado, había una inmensa arboleda. […] Hasta donde llegue el torrente, tendrán vida todos los seres vivientes […] cuando esta agua llegue hasta el Mar, sus aguas quedarán saneadas, y habrá vida en todas partes adonde llegue el torrente” (Ez 47,7.9)».

GOSPEL (Mt 14, 22-23)
En seguida, obligó a los discípulos que subieran a la barca y pasaran antes que él hacia la otra orilla, mientras él despedía a la multitud. Después, subió a la montaña para orar a solas. Y al atardecer, todavía estaba allí, solo.
REFLECTION
El Corazón de Jesús permanece en constante oración y desde ahí vive su entrega y misión. Pasa toda la noche en oración al Padre antes de elegir a sus discípulos (cf. Lc 6,12); lo alaba en medio de su predicación, al darse cuenta de que se revela a los pequeños y sencillos (cf. Mt 11,25-26); agradece al Padre porque sabe que siempre lo escucha (cf. Jn 11,41); invita a otros a subir el monte para orar y los fortalece en su fe (cf. Lc 9,28-29); ruega al Padre por todos nosotros desde su Corazón sacerdotal (cf. Jn 17), ora más intensamente en su agonía (cf. Mt 26,36) y por el perdón de sus verdugos (cf. Lc 23,34) y finalmente entrega su Espíritu en una profunda oración de confianza y abandono (cf. Mt 27)

Corazón de Jesús, enséñanos a permanecer en la oración que elevas al Padre en la liturgia, así como en la adoración y acción de gracias, la intercesión y al pedir perdón. Pues el discípulo que ora, nunca se marchita y vive unido a la fuente que fecunda la misión por el Reino.

Los justos le responderán: «Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te dimos de comer; sediento, ¿y te dimos de beber? ¿Cuándo te vimos de paso, y te alojamos;
desnudo, ¿y te vestimos? ¿Cuándo te vimos enfermo o preso, y fuimos a verte?». Y el Rey les responderá: «Les aseguro que cada vez que lo hicieron con el más pequeño de mis hermanos, lo hicieron conmigo».
REFLECTION
Cristo se identifica con cada persona en este mundo. Vivir amando y sirviendo a nuestros hermanos que forman el Cuerpo Místico de Cristo, es también permanecer en Él, que «tomó nuestras debilidades y cargó sobre sí nuestras enfermedades» (Mt 8,17). Ver a Cristo presente en los demás nos impulsa a amar más generosamente y vivir nuestra misión en profunda unión con su Corazón, que toma para sí, lo hecho a cada uno de los más pequeños.
CLOSING PRAYER
Corazón de Jesús, que sigues presente a través de la humanidad que has querido asumir en tu misma persona, te pedimos que enciendas tu caridad en nosotros para acercarnos a cada persona, en su realidad concreta, con el bálsamo de tu amor.

Permanecer en la cruz es permanecer en la experiencia del amor misericordioso de Jesús que se entregó, incluso a la muerte, para demostrarnos su amor: «Nadie tiene mayor amor que el que da la vida por sus amigos» (Jn 15,13) «De la herida del costado de Cristo sigue brotando ese río que jamás se agota, que no pasa, que se ofrece una y otra vez para quien quiera amar. Sólo su amor hará posible una humanidad nueva». (Dilexit nos, n. 219). «Si contemplamos la entrega de Cristo por todos, se nos vuelve inevitable preguntarnos por qué no somos capaces de dar la vida por los demás: “En esto hemos conocido el amor: en que él entregó su vida por nosotros. Por eso, también nosotros debemos dar la vida por nuestros hermanos” (1 Jn 3,16)». (Dilexit nos, n. 171)

Permítenos, Padre, la gracia de permanecer al pie de la Cruz de Jesús como lo hicieron María, su madre, Juan el discípulo amado y María Magdalena, la primera testigo de tu resurrección. Para que, contemplando tu amor desde la intimidad del Corazón de tu Hijo, nos convirtamos en apóstoles creíbles de tu resurrección en medio de nuestros hermanos.

REFLECTION
«Muchas veces los sufrimientos tienen que ver con el propio ego herido, pero es precisamente la humildad del Corazón de Cristo la que nos indica el camino del
abajamiento. Dios ha querido llegar a nosotros anonadándose, empequeñeciéndose Ya lo enseña el Antiguo Testamento a través de distintas metáforas que muestran a un Dios que entra en las pequeñeces de la historia y se deja rechazar por su pueblo. Su amor se entremezcla en la vida cotidiana del pueblo amado y se vuelve mendigo de una respuesta, como pidiendo permiso para mostrar su gloria. Por otra parte, “quizá una sola vez el Señor Jesús nos ha llamado con sus palabras al propio corazón. Y ha puesto de relieve este único rasgo: ‘mansedumbre y humildad’. Como si quisiera decir que sólo por este camino quiere conquistar al hombre”. Cuando Cristo dijo: “aprendan de mí, porque soy paciente y humilde de corazón” (Mt 11,29) nos indicó que “para expresarse necesita nuestra pequeñez, nuestro abajamiento”».

CLOSING PRAYER
Señor, concédenos el don de comprender la fecundidad que encierra una vida que abraza tu mansedumbre y humildad, para que optando por vivir de esta manera, seamos discípulos auténticos de lo más propio de tu Corazón.
