Señor, que te reconozca como el pastor y guía en mi vida; dame la gracia de seguirte a donde Tú quieras, porque a veces el camino es difícil, pero tu vara y tu cayado me dan seguridad. Señor, quiero sentirte cerca el día de hoy.

From the Holy Gospel according to John 10:1-10
At that time Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Truly I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the door but jumps out some other way is a thief, a robber; but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him that keepeth the door openeth, and the sheep know his voice; and he calleth every one by name, and leadeth them out. And when he has led out all his sheep, he walks before them, and they follow him, because they know his voice. But a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”.
Jesus made this comparison, but they did not understand what he meant. Therefore he added, “Truly I tell you, I am the door of the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but my sheep have not listened to them.
I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved, he will be able to go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal, to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
En una buena relación, desde un inicio se puede palpar que hay algo especial que no se puede explicar fácilmente, pero se siente que se está bien con el otro. Jesús quiere entrar en nuestra vida como buen pastor que nos acoge, nos cuida y nos ama; esta forma de relacionarnos con Él es especial, sin duda. Él es un ejemplo de lo que significa preocuparse y cuidar del otro porque se esmera en amar a las ovejitas, nos las deja solas por nada del mundo. La atención que les brinda es de corazón porque las quiere, y ese amor no deja que les pase nada.
Parte de este cuidado es ayudarlas con correcciones cuando lo necesitan. Las corrige porque las quiere y ve que lo mejor vendrá después, si siguen el camino que Él les indica.
Después de haber estado con el pastor bueno las ovejas no se pueden olvidar de Él, les ha dejado una huella en el alma. Cuando ya han crecido, escuchan su voz porque lo aman; tal vez al inicio no lo amaban tanto, pero aprendieron con el tiempo a amarlo y darse cuenta de que la vida no es la misma sin Él. Ese amor que les mostró no era como el de otros que son ladrones, vienen y se van, no les importan las ovejas solo lo que pueden sacar de ellas; en cambio el buen pastor da la vida por sus ovejas. El buen pastor no es como los otros que se esconden y no entran por la puerta de enfrente, sino que hace todo a la luz del día.
Pidámosle a María, en este mes de mayo, que nos conceda la gracia de acercarnos más a su hijo, que ella nos guíe al divino pastor, a nosotros que somos como ovejitas con hermosas rosas (ave Marías) en la boca proclamando las maravillas de Dios. Que en su regazo materno nos sintamos protegidos de todo mal y contentos de estar con ella.
«A los verbos y a los gestos que describen el modo en que Jesús, el Buen Pastor, se relaciona con nosotros, hacen eco los verbos que se refieren a las ovejas, es decir a nosotros: “escuchan mi voz”, “me siguen”. Son acciones que muestran cómo debemos corresponder a las actitudes tiernas y atentas del Señor. En efecto, escuchar y reconocer su voz implica intimidad con Él, que se consolida en la oración, en el encuentro de corazón a corazón con el divino Maestro y Pastor de nuestras almas. Esta intimidad con Jesús, este ser abierto, este hablar con Jesús, refuerza en nosotros el deseo de seguirlo, saliendo del laberinto de los caminos equivocados, abandonando comportamientos egoístas, para encaminarnos por las sendas nuevas de la fraternidad y del don de nosotros mismos, a imitación suya.»
