But the definitive backing for the devotion, which meant its diffusion e institution worldwide, came with the apparitions of Christ to the French nun Saint Marguerite Marie Alacoque intre 1673 y 1675. Saw the Sacred Heart «in flames, with the wound, surrounded by a crown of thorns and a cross on top of it». He asked that the faithful who receive it frequently at the Eucharist, especially the first nine Fridays of the month, and to a holy hour of reparation for the sins of the world, Finally requestó «that a special feast be dedicated to honor my Heart on the first Friday after the octave of the Most Blessed Sacrament».
At Spain, Blessed Bernardo de Hoyos, Jesuit priest, May 14, 1733, Ascension Day, while praying after communion so that the devotion to the Heart of Jesus would be spread at Hispanic territories of that time (Kingdom of Spain in Europe, América and Asia), saw the Sacred Heart and received of it a Great Promise: «I WILL REIGN IN SPAIN AND WITH MORE VENERATION THAN ELSEWHERE.».
