Thy Kingdom come!
Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Beloved Jesus, You know everything that is happening in my life at this moment. You know my deepest desires, my most painful wounds, my most beautiful joys; my whole being is known to You. Thank You for having brought me to this moment of prayer. Increase my faith. Give me the grace to know how to discover your will. Increase my trust. May I never distrust the infinite love you have for me. Increase my love. Help me to know how to receive your love and to be a luminous reflection of your presence for others, and thus be an instrument for the establishment of your Kingdom. Amen.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to John 6, 52-59
At that time the Jews began to dispute among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. My flesh is true food and my Blood is true drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him. As the Father, who sent me, has life, and I live because of him, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna which his fathers ate, for they died. He who eats of this bread will live forever.” Jesus said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
Word of the Lord.
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Beloved soul:
You have heard that I told the Jews that my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. The same I say to you: Come and be satisfied with me.
Here am I, your God and creator who for your love has made your bread... Who could a loaf of bread frighten? If I were to present myself as an Almighty God in the way the world thinks of him, whose finger sends forth withering thunderbolts and whose glance makes the very foundations of the earth tremble, you would fear me and not love me; that is why I come to you as your food, as something necessary for you, but which you can refuse.
In order to be loved, I have had to make myself vulnerable; in order to be chosen by you, I have had to accept the risk of being rejected by you.
Today, so many people in the world offer you food, in torrents you are offered the poisoned candies of lust, greed and pride, which not only do not satiate you, but also make you sick and threaten your life and authentic happiness.
Come, do not be afraid. I am here. I want to quench your thirst to love and be loved. I want to be your food. May I?
Sincerely Jesus
«He accepted death to save the men whom the Father had given him and who were dead in the slavery of sin. Jesus became our brother and shared our condition even unto death; with his love he broke the yoke of death and opened for us the gates of life. With his body and blood he nourishes us and unites us to his faithful love, which carries within it the hope of the definitive victory of good over evil, over suffering and over death».
(Homily of H.H. Francis, November 3, 2017).

We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
