César Yali Molina Flores, LC

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Christ, our King.
Thy Kingdom come!

Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)

Grant me, Lord, to understand the reason for the things I am living.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 9, 14-15

At that time, John's disciples came to Jesus and asked him, “Why do your disciples not fast, while we and the Pharisees fast?” Jesus answered them, “How can the friends of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.”.

Word of the Lord.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel

The Gospel invites you to enter into the dynamic of the child who always asks his father the reason for things, just as the disciples of St. John the Baptist approached Jesus to ask him why there was different behavior among his disciples, them and the Pharisees, because of the freedom they felt in the presence of Jesus, who, as a father, guides them to discover the reasons they are looking for.

Jesus is not indifferent to what is happening to you, approach Him with confidence and ask Him why you are living what you are currently living: - Why is my family falling apart? What did I fail to do or what did I fail to do for this to happen? How can I remedy it? Why is my company or work going through this situation, etc.? etc. -Jesus will not reproach you for the questions you ask him as a friend, on the contrary, he will take you by the hand to find the answers you are looking for, and you will see with greater clarity the possibilities of what lies ahead.

Learn to look for the reasons for the things you do and live, rather than how to do them; the origin of the conflict in today's world is so simple that it is enough to rethink the question to move towards a better world. Scripture says that we do not know how to ask - in this case, we do not know how to ask. Take advantage of this and begin to rethink the way you see and act in the world: why do I do this, why do I want to do this, why do I live this? Remember that you are not alone and that your decisions will benefit you and others, because the way you ask will affect your environment and yourself.

Dare, don't be afraid, and ask yourself: Why...?

«Every year, Lent offers us a providential occasion to deepen the meaning and value of being Christians, and stimulates us to discover anew the mercy of God so that we too may become more merciful to our brothers and sisters.».
(Message of His Holiness Benedict XVI, Lent 2008).

Dialogue with Christ

This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.

Purpose

Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.

I will approach a family member from whom I am estranged to try to resolve our differences.

Farewell

We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.

Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!

Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.
Pray for us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
