Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)

Lord Jesus, on this day let me meet you in prayer, open my ears to hear your voice and give me the grace to follow your way. I want to be your disciple, I want to be with you and share your merciful love to others.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)

From the Holy Gospel according to Mark 3:13-19
At that time Jesus went up on the mountain, called those he wanted, and they went with him. He made twelve of them his companions, to send them out to preach, with power to cast out demons: Simon, to whom he gave the nickname Peter; James of Zebedee and his brother John, to whom he gave the nickname Boanerges - The Thunderers; Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Word of the Lord.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel

In Scripture, mountains are a special place for an encounter with God. Jesus goes up to be alone and pray for his disciples. He did not choose only twelve, he chose each and every one of us and, in that prayer in the solitude of the mountain, he prayed before his Father for each one of us. Before we were born we were already in the Heart of Jesus and He had already chosen us for a mission.

Our mission is, first of all, to be with Him. Only Jesus can fill our hearts, and only with Him can we be happy. But we cannot keep this love for ourselves alone; it must be shared. Once we have felt how much Jesus loves us, we cannot but want others to love him, others to feel the same love that we feel and that moves us.

«The encounter with Jesus changes life, it establishes a before and an after. It is always good to remember that hour, that key day for each one of us when we realized, seriously, that “what I felt” was not a desire or an attraction, but that the Lord was waiting for something more. And here one can remember: that day I realized it. The memory of that hour in which we were touched by his gaze». (H.H. Francis, Speech in Peru on January 20, 2018).

Dialogue with Christ

This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.

Purpose

Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.

I will bring God's love to whoever needs it, either with my works or with my words, especially in my family.

Farewell

We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.

Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!

Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.
Pray for us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
