Thy Kingdom come!
Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Lord Jesus, I believe in you, but help me to believe firmly. I hope in you, but help me to hope without distrust. I love you, but help me not to offend you again.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to John 14:6-14
At that time, Jesus said to Thomas: “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you know my Father. You know him already and have seen him”. Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that is enough for us. But Jesus said to him, ”Philip, I have been with you so long, and yet you do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father, so why do you say, ‘Show us the Father,’ or do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not say on my own. It is the Father, who abides in me, who does the works. Believe me: I am in the Father and the Father is in me. I tell you the truth, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater works than I do, because I go to the Father; and whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. I will do whatever they ask me in my name”.
Word of the Lord.
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
How many years have we been with Christ and we still do not know him? Many times we want, like the disciples, to see and know God clearly. Lord, show us the Father and that is enough for us“ today we would say: ”Lord, send me a sign... that I may see you, etc.". It can happen to us that, after a while, we get used to it, that our faith gradually fades. That is why on this day the liturgy invites us to pause for a moment to measure our faith.
The knowledge of Christ implies in us faith, which is what gives meaning to the Christian life. The faith that drives us to go forward, to trust and not to be afraid. “Faith is the strength of the Christian”, it is what allows him to walk in his life without stopping. Just as it makes no sense to have a car without gasoline, it makes no sense to be a “Catholic” without faith. Faith has no limits, it is only necessary to believe.
But yes, true faith is not only professed with the mouth, but also with life. Faith is beautiful when it is lived. Today we need Catholics who transmit the faith with their lives, giving witness to the love of God. Let us know Christ in prayer, so that we can then transmit him to others with our lives.
«It is Jesus himself who tells us that he is the way: I am the way, the truth and the life. Everything. I give you life, I manifest myself as truth and if you come with me, I am the way. So, in order to know the one who presents himself as the way, the truth and the life, it is necessary to set out “on the way”. In fact, the knowledge of Jesus is the most important work of our life. Also because by knowing him we come to know the Father».
(Homily of H.H. Francis, May 16, 2014).
Dialogue with Christ
This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.
Purpose
Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.
Seek a time to be with Jesus the Eucharist to see how my faith is, how I am living it and what I will do to transmit it with my life.
Farewell
We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.
Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!
Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.
Pray for us.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

(The liturgy in Mexico dedicates May 3 to the Exaltation of the Cross; however, the Gospel of this reflection is from the Easter liturgy celebrated in the rest of the countries).
