Letter from the General Chapter to the lay members of Regnum Christi

During the five weeks of Chapter work, the 60 fathers gathered at the General Chapter felt supported by the closeness and prayers of the lay members of Regnum Christi. Messages, fraternal gestures, and prayers arrived from different parts of the world, accompanying each day of listening and discernment. In this concrete communion, it became clear that the mission is not lived alone, but as a spiritual family walking together.

In their letter to all the lay members, the fathers express their “deep gratitude for so many gestures of closeness” and for the prayers offered during these days. They recognize that these signs, perhaps small in human eyes, have been a spiritual consolation and a constant reminder that the Church and her mission are always greater than any human reflection.

They also appreciate the generous response of so many lay members to God's call to live their Christian commitment in the midst of temporal realities: in the family, at work, and in the social and cultural fabric of daily life. This persevering effort to follow Christ more closely, to be leaven where God has placed them, does not go unnoticed and becomes an encouragement to those who have assumed the responsibility of guiding the Congregation at this moment.

“Your enthusiasm in love, your apostolic zeal, and your perseverance have deeply motivated us,” they write. The witness of those who choose Christ in the midst of ordinary demands—with family responsibilities, professional commitments, and personal limitations—challenges and impels us to a more convinced commitment.

A shared mission that continues

The capitular fathers encourage the lay members to persevere in their vocation and mission: “We ask you to continue to be apostles and formators of apostles, Christian leaders at the service of Jesus Christ, the Church, and society. Do not stop along the way. The world in which you live needs you, and so does the spiritual family of Regnum Christi.”

With these words, they renew the awareness that each vocation brings its own unique and irreplaceable gift. Regnum Christi grows when that diversity is lived in communion and translated into apostolic co-responsibility.

The capitular fathers entrust the lay members to the Holy Spirit, who has guided their work during the Chapter, and remind them that their vocation is a precious gift for the Church. As St. Paul affirms, “we have different gifts according to the grace given to us” (Rom 12:6), and each one is called to put that gift at the service of the Kingdom.Rm 12:6), and each one is called to put that gift at the service of the Kingdom.
