Ilumina mi mente, Señor, y dispón mi alma para poder contemplar los milagros que haces en cada momento de mi vida. Enséñame, Señor, a descubrirte e infunde en mi corazón tu espíritu para poder amarte cada día más.

From the Holy Gospel according to Luke 11:29-32
At that time, the crowd crowded around Jesus and he began to say to them: “The people of this time are a perverse people. They ask for a sign, but no sign will be given to them except the sign of Jonah. For just as Jonah was a sign for the inhabitants of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be for the people of this time. When the men of this time are judged, the queen of the south will arise on the day of judgment to condemn them, for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and here is one who is more than Solomon. When the people of this time are judged, the men of Nineveh will rise up in the day of judgment to condemn them, because they were converted by the preaching of Jonah, and here is one who is more than Jonah.”.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
¿Qué sucede en mi interior, Señor? ¿Por qué dudo cuando sé cuál es la verdad? Nuevamente puedo sentir ese deseo de encontrar las respuestas de mi vida. Ese mismo deseo que sintieron los habitantes de Nínive al pedir un signo a Dios. Pero ¿realmente pido a Dios lo que es correcto? ¿No será que me falta fe?
Ante los hechos que suceden en mi vida, puedo reaccionar de diversas maneras; quiero respuestas, pido señales y muchas veces sufro la impaciencia, cuando realmente me falta detenerme, esperar y ver más allá. No basta sólo con utilizar mis ojos humanos, sino que falta utilizar los ojos de la fe, esos ojos que ven y mueven mi corazón a actuar; pues puedo pasar días enteros, noches en vela, pidiendo milagros extraordinarios, cuando los verdaderos milagros los estoy viviendo día a día sin darme cuenta.
Soy tan afortunado, Señor, tengo el don de la vida, la compañía de Dios, el don de tener otras personas a mi lado con las cuales puedo compartir y muchas veces no me doy cuenta de todo ello. Quizá sea que realmente lo esencial es invisible a los ojos humanos, mas no a los ojos de la fe.
Enséñame, Señor, a contemplar los verdaderos milagros que suceden en mi vida. Enséñame, por favor, a descubrirte en lo ordinario y a no querer buscar siempre lo extraordinario, pues quien busca la verdad, busca a Dios aunque no lo sepa, como nos enseña santa Edith Stein.
«Hay otros como el terco Jonás, que son los justicieros. Él iba, profetizaba, pero en su corazón decía: “Pero se lo merecen. Se lo merecen. ¡Se la han buscado!’. Él profetizaba, ¡pero no oraba! No pedía perdón al Señor por ellos. Solo los golpeaba. Son los verdugos, ¡los que piensan que tienen razón! Y al final -continúa el libro de Jonás- se ve que era un hombre egoísta, porque cuando el Señor lo ha salvado, por la oración del pueblo, Nínive, él se ha enojado con el Señor: “¡Tú siempre eres así. Tú siempre perdonas!’. Por lo tanto, la oración que es solo fórmula sin corazón, así como lo es el pesimismo o la inclinación a una justicia sin perdón, son tentaciones que el cristiano siempre debe evitar para llegar a elegir “la mejor parte”».
