Señor, cúrame de mis heridas, mis enfermedades y todo aquello que me aleje de Ti; ayúdame a reconocerme pecador y necesitado de tu gracia para poder vivir en carne propia tu amor y comunicarlo a los demás.

From the Holy Gospel according to Mark 5:1-20
En aquel tiempo, después de atravesar el lago de Genesaret, Jesús y sus discípulos llegaron a la otra orilla, a la región de los gerasenos. Apenas desembarcó Jesús, vino corriendo desde el cementerio un hombre poseído por un espíritu inmundo, que vivía en los sepulcros. Ya ni con cadenas podían sujetarlo; a veces habían intentado sujetarlo con argollas y cadenas, pero él rompía las cadenas y destrozaba las argollas; nadie tenía fuerzas para dominarlo. Se pasaba días y noches en los sepulcros o en el monte, gritando y golpeándose con piedras.
When the man saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down and cried out at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you by God, do not torment me”.
He said this because Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” And he begged him earnestly not to drive them out of that region.
There was a large herd of swine feeding on the hillside. The spirits begged Jesus, “Let us get out of here and get into the pigs. And he let them. The unclean spirits came out of the man and got into the swine; and all the swine, about two thousand of them, rushed over the cliff into the lake and drowned.
Those who took care of the pigs ran away and told what had happened, in the village and in the countryside. The people went to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and saw the once demon-possessed man, now in his right mind, sitting up and clothed. Then they were afraid. And those who had seen everything told them what had happened to the demoniac and about the pigs. They began to beg Jesus to leave their district.
As Jesus was embarking, the demoniac begged him to take him into his company, but he refused and said to him, “Go home to your own family and tell them how merciful the Lord has been to you. And that man went away from there and began to proclaim throughout the region of Decapolis what Jesus had done for him. And all who heard him were amazed.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
El endemoniado, después de haber tenido una experiencia fuerte de la misericordia de Dios, se siente impulsado por el Espíritu Santo a seguir a Cristo más de cerca; podríamos decir como sacerdote, consagrado o monja pero, para su sorpresa y la nuestra, Él le dice que le tiene otra misión en la que puede compartir las maravillas que Dios ha hecho en su vida; él mismo, con su vida, ya es un ejemplo de lo que Dios puede hacer con un alma que se deja tocar por Él. Después de haber experimentado la misericordia de Dios, se convierte en testigo de este amor divino y discípulo del Señor en sus circunstancias ordinarias como su vida en familia, el trabajo, con la gente y sus amigos que trata todos los días.
Así es como el Señor quiere tocar nuestra vida hoy porque no hay pecador sin futuro ni santo sin pasado; lo que tenemos que hacer es dejarnos tocar por su gracia, que es un amor inmensamente tierno, porque Él es nuestro padre y nosotros, sus hijos queridos. Es difícil porque la acción de su perdón implica reconocer nuestras debilidades y pecados y, también, un morir a nosotros mismos porque, con el perdón de Dios, una parte de nosotros muere y nos convertimos en personas renovadas que se preocupan por comunicar a los demás las maravillas de Dios que nos ha salvado, nos convertimos en apóstoles de la misericordia de Dios para que otros, también, puedan experimentar el amor de Dios y se extienda, así, su gracia entre los hombres.
«Es importante no pensar en el tema “Vete a tu casa” como una simple invitación a volver. No penséis en la “casa” como algo cerrado y limitado. Por el contrario, todo camino dado por el Señor es siempre un andar misionero para contar “lo que el Señor ha hecho contigo y que ha tenido compasión de ti”. No olvidéis que seguís siendo una minoría entre vuestra gente. Todavía hay una mayoría que tiene el derecho y está esperando escuchar el anuncio del Evangelio. El mandato de Cristo, por lo tanto, sigue siendo urgente hoy para vosotros. Ahora os toca a vosotros construir una Iglesia-casa joven y alegre, llena de vida y de fraternidad. ¡Qué mediante vuestro testimonio los mensajes salvíficos de Dios lleguen al corazón de vuestros vecinos y compatriotas! ¡Siempre el testimonio nunca el proselitismo! “¿Cómo llevar a cabo esta tarea?” ― podríais preguntarme. Os propongo estas tres características para vuestro testimonio en este tiempo: honradez, responsabilidad y optimismo. Las tres van acompañadas del discernimiento.»
