Lord, may I be able to see inside myself and discover the great things that You do for me and, in this way, may I be able to do them for others.

From the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 6:1-6. 16-18
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Be careful not to practice your works of piety before men, so that they may see you. Otherwise, you will have no reward with your heavenly Father.
Por lo tanto, cuando des limosna, no lo anuncies con trompeta, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y por las calles, para que los alaben los hombres. Yo les aseguro que ya recibieron su recompensa. En cambio, cuando tú des limosna, que no sepa tu mano izquierda lo que hace la derecha, para que tu limosna quede en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve lo secreto, te recompensará.
When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who like to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the squares, so that people will see you. I assure you that you have already received your reward. But you, when you go to pray, go into your room, close the door and pray before your Father, who is there in secret; and your Father, who sees the secret, will reward you.
When you fast, do not put on a sad face, like those hypocrites who neglect the appearance of their faces, so that people will notice that they are fasting. I assure you that you have already received your reward. But you, when you fast, put perfume on your head and wash your face, so that people will not know that you are fasting, but your Father, who is in secret; and your Father, who sees the secret, will reward you”.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Creo que el Evangelio de hoy es bastante claro y podríamos reflexionar un poco, o, mejor dicho, detenernos un momento y pensar en estas palabras que Cristo nos dice en el Evangelio: «Tengan cuidado de no practicar sus obras de piedad delante de los hombres.» Y el pequeño examen de conciencia que podríamos hacer sería: ¿Cómo ha sido mi caridad delante de Dios y delante de los hombres? ¿Cómo ha sido mi generosidad? ¿Cómo ha sido mi disponibilidad? Y así podríamos ir metiendo otras preguntas. Si las respuestas son positivas demos gracias Dios que nos ha visto en lo secreto y en lo secreto nos recompensará; y de no ser así pedir la gracia a Dios para que cada día tengamos una intención más pura.
We can do this after the example of Mary who did things for others in secret as at the wedding at Cana, and certainly on many other occasions.
«Y mirémonos dentro, en el corazón: ¡cuántas veces sofocamos el fuego de Dios con las cenizas de la hipocresía! La hipocresía es la inmundicia que hoy en el Evangelio Jesús nos pide que eliminemos. De hecho, el Señor no dice sólo hacer obras de caridad, orar y ayunar, sino cumplir todo esto sin simulación, sin doblez, sin hipocresía. Sin embargo, cuántas veces hacemos algo sólo para ser estimados, para aparentar, para alimentar nuestro ego. Cuántas veces nos decimos cristianos y en nuestro corazón cedemos sin problemas a las pasiones que nos esclavizan. Cuántas veces predicamos una cosa y hacemos otra. Cuántas veces aparentamos ser buenos por fuera y guardamos rencores por dentro. Cuánta doblez tenemos en nuestro corazón… Es polvo que ensucia, ceniza que sofoca el fuego del amor. Necesitamos limpiar el polvo que se deposita en el corazón. ¿Cómo hacerlo? Nos ayuda la sincera llamada de san Pablo en la segunda lectura: “¡Dejaos reconciliar con Dios!”». Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.
I will reflect in my examination of conscience on how I have lived the virtue that Christ proposes to me in the Gospel.
