Señor, te pido la gracia de conocer más sobre tu Palabra para que la pueda aplicar en mi vida. Te pido también por todos los matrimonios que no pueden tener hijos para que se sientan fortalecidos en sus momentos de dificultad.

From the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark 12:18-27
At that time some of the Sadducees, who say that the dead are not raised from the dead, came to Jesus and said to him: “Master, Moses left us written que si un hombre muere dejando a su viuda sin hijos, que la tome por mujer el hermano del que murió para darle descendencia a su hermano. Once upon a time there were seven brothers, the first of whom married and died, leaving no children. The second married the widow and also died, leaving no children; so did the third. All seven married her and none of them left offspring. Last of all, after them all, the woman also died. On the day of resurrection, when they rise from the dead, whose wife will she be of the seven? For she was a woman of the seven.
Jesus answered them, “You are in error, because you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God. For when they are raised from the dead, neither shall men have wives nor women husbands, but they shall be like the angels in heaven. And as for the fact that the dead are raised from the dead, have you not read in the book of Moses that passage about the bush, in which God said to him: I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.? God is not God of the dead, but of the living. They are, therefore, very wrong”.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Cuán importante era la familia para los judíos porque no querían que la descendencia familiar se perdiera. Esto tiene una razón más profunda que es el hecho de que la familia se convierte en testigo de las maravillas del Señor y puede contar así, de generación en generación, lo que Dios ha obrado en sus vidas. Pero si no hay vidas, no habrá historias en las que los protagonistas seamos nosotros y Dios.
A veces hay gente que se cuestiona sobre Dios y la Iglesia por cosas que no pueden entender o que piensan que son ilógicas. Me vienen a la mente el hecho de que los sacerdotes no se casen o que las mujeres no puedan ser sacerdotes, de este tipo de problemáticas hay una gran cantidad. Por lo menos a esta primera pregunta creo que el Evangelio nos puede ayudar a responder porque nos muestra que tenemos un destino que va más allá del matrimonio, aunque esta actitud no nos debe llevar a denigrar el matrimonio y de hecho es algo que todos cuidamos, empezando por Dios mismo.
Seremos como ángeles que aman a Dios y no les importa nada más, este estado del que habla el Evangelio es algo increíble porque será el momento en el que Dios nos llenará totalmente, ya no nos faltará nada. Es un gran misterio porque Dios será nuestra media naranja en todos los sentidos y nos dará un amor que no se acaba porque es eterno y fiel.
Tener la mente en los bienes del cielo nos ayuda en nuestra realidad actual porque nos hace tener los ojos en lo alto, sin dejar de pisar en la tierra, y contar las maravillas que el Señor ha hecho en nuestra vida y en la de la gente que nos rodea.
«Jesús invita, en primer lugar, a sus interlocutores ―y a nosotros también― a pensar que esta dimensión terrenal en la que vivimos ahora no es la única dimensión, sino que hay otra, ya no sujeta a la muerte, en la que se manifestará plenamente que somos hijos de Dios. Es un gran consuelo y esperanza escuchar estas palabras sencillas y claras de Jesús sobre la vida más allá de la muerte; las necesitamos sobre todo en nuestro tiempo, tan rico en conocimientos sobre el universo, pero tan pobre en sabiduría sobre la vida eterna.»
