Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Lord Jesus, I ask you to make yourself present in my life, and in a special way in this moment of prayer. Help me to listen to your word, to internalize your message and to preach your teachings by the example of my Christian life, so that I may be a faithful collaborator in the extension of your kingdom. Amen.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to John 6:35-40
At that time, Jesus said to the multitude, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst. But as I have already told you, they have seen me and do not believe. Everyone whom the Father gives me comes to me; and him who comes to me I will in no wise cast out, for I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but the will of him who sent me.
And the will of him who sent me is that I should lose nothing of what he has given me, but that I should raise it up on the last day. My Father's will is that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Buenos papás y mamás desean más que nada en el mundo la felicidad de sus hijos, por ello buscan cumplir de la mejor manera con su labor de proveedores, principalmente de alimento, educación y amor.
Dios es un padre bueno, y por ello, también quiso cumplir con esta labor de proveedor enviándonos a su hijo más amado: Jesucristo. El Señor (como enviado del Padre) nos da como alimento su cuerpo y su sangre, por educación nos da su palabra y por amor se entregó por nosotros en la cruz.
Buenos hijos en cambio, conscientes del esfuerzo que sus padres hacen por ellos, buscan, en agradecimiento, corresponder a través de una actitud de obediencia y atención.
Cristo, como ejemplo de Hijo, habla en este Evangelio de su relación inquebrantable con el Padre y de su disponibilidad a cumplir siempre su voluntad.
Somos pues, padres, madres e hijos a imagen de Dios, y, por tanto, debemos esforzarnos en ser unos para otros, puentes para alcanzar la vida eterna, y cumplir así con el anhelo más grande del Señor.
«Pesebre y casa del pan: el belén que hacemos en casa, donde compartimos comida y afecto, nos recuerda que Jesús es el alimento, el pan de vida. Es Él quien alimenta nuestro amor, es Él quien da a nuestras familias la fuerza para seguir adelante y perdonarnos. El pesebre nos ofrece otra enseñanza de vida. En los ritmos de hoy, a veces frenéticos, es una invitación a la contemplación. Nos recuerda la importancia de detenernos. Porque sólo cuando sabemos recogernos podemos acoger lo que cuenta en la vida. Sólo si dejamos el estruendo del mundo fuera de nuestras casas nos abrimos a escuchar a Dios, que habla en silencio. El pesebre es actual, es la actualidad de cada familia.»

Señor Jesús me has hecho hijo, madre o padre, y con tu vida me has enseñado con tu ejemplo cómo vivir con plenitud esta vocación. Ayúdame, también, a vivir con un esfuerzo renovado por tu gracia para que, con disponibilidad y amor, pueda ser un medio de salvación y santificación para cada uno de los miembros de mi familia. Amén.
