Christ, our King, Thy Kingdom come!
Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Be You, Lord, my only wealth.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to Luke 12:13-21
At that time, when Jesus was in the midst of a crowd, a man said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to share his inheritance with me. But Jesus answered him, ”Friend, who made me the judge of the distribution of inheritances?.
And addressing the crowd, he said: “Avoid all kinds of greed, because man's life does not depend on the abundance of the goods he possesses”.
Then he told them this parable: “A rich man had a large harvest and he began to think: ‘What shall I do, because I no longer have a place to store my harvest? I know what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones to store my harvest and all that I have. Then I will be able to say to myself, ’You have enough for many years; rest, eat, drink, and live a good life‘. But God said to him, ’You foolish man, you are going to die tonight. This very night you are going to die, for whom will all your possessions be? The same thing happens to him who amasses riches for himself and does not become rich from what he is worth before God.”.
Word of the Lord.
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
This world proposes a different ideal to the one Christ offers me. The world tells me that happiness is found in having things, many things, that the more expensive they are the happier I will be. This world makes me believe the lie that I find my happiness in material things.
Christ, on the other hand, invites me to keep my gaze on high, on the things of heaven, on the true treasure that can fill my soul. He invites me to live completely abandoned in his love, capable of filling my whole heart with happiness. He asks me to trust him completely and to let him make me happy.
This happiness, this wealth that Christ offers me, is not materially abundant or showy in the eyes of the world. This happiness is Christ himself. He wants to be the only wealth of my heart, for only He can fill it completely.
Be You, Lord, my only wealth. Become, Jesus, the only treasure of my heart. Do not allow my heart to be attached to anything else but You. Grant that I may long for You and desire You more and more each day. Be my only wealth.
«To love the poor means to fight against all forms of poverty, spiritual and material.
And it will do us good to get close to those who are poorer than us, it will touch our lives. It will do us good, it will remind us of what really counts: to love God and our neighbor. Only this lasts forever, all the rest passes away; therefore, what we invest in love is what remains, the rest disappears. Today we can ask ourselves: «What counts for me in life, what do I invest in? In the wealth that passes away, of which the world is never satisfied, or in the wealth of God, which gives eternal life?». This is the choice before us: to live to have on this earth or to give to gain heaven.».

Dialogue with Christ
This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.
Purpose
Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.
Today I will seek to visit Christ in a church, as a sign that He is my only treasure.
Farewell
We thank You, Lord, for all Your benefits, You who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.
Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!
Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
