Que en este mes mariano pueda yo, Señor, de la mano de mi Madre santísima, continuar amándote a través de mi entrega de amor a los demás. Especialmente hoy, que me dispongo para hablar contigo, concédeme la gracia de no desear nada más que encontrarte a ti… Tan solo eso me basta.

From the Holy Gospel according to John 15:18-21
At that time Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but the world hates you because you are not of the world, for in choosing you, I have separated you from the world. Remember what I said to you: ‘The servant is not superior to his master’. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you, and if they have heeded my words, they will heed yours. All this they will do to you for my sake, for you do not know him who sent me.”.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Muchas veces he escuchado afirmaciones como «¡qué ejemplar es este sacerdote!» o «¡cuán santa es aquella religiosa!» … Los laicos suelen pensar esto sobre las almas consagradas porque les parece algo heroico que «el Padre Pepe» haya abandonado todos sus proyectos y renunciado a la felicidad de su familia para abandonar el mundo y entregarse a Cristo, pero la verdad es que parecen no tener idea de que los verdaderos héroes son ellos mismos…
Vivir en el mundo, sin ser del mundo, es un deber francamente imposible de realizar para una persona, toda llena de miseria, defectos y debilidades. Pero, he aquí que Cristo se ha hecho hombre para estar a nuestro lado. Como Él es Dios, nada tiene por imposible, y nada ha de ser irrealizable para quien camina con su bendición, compañía y Amor.
Un sacerdote, una religiosa o cualquier persona consagrada tiene mucho mérito al renunciar a sí misma para seguir a Cristo, pero también se beneficia de ello para que la batalla contra el mundo sea más ligera… Tiene un camino privilegiado para alcanzar la santidad.
Pero ¿saben qué? Los combates espirituales de un laico comprometido pueden ser hasta diez veces más violentos y complicados de superar. Sí… ellos son los verdaderos SÚPER HÉROES. ¡Cuánto mérito ganarán aquellos que se mantengan firmes, tomando la mano del Amigo!
