Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Lord, I ask you for the gift to grow in charity; to grow in the interest to love, to imitate you. I trust in your help. I trust in your presence. I trust that you are with me at every moment.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to Luke 16:9-15
At that time Jesus said to his disciples: “With money so full of unrighteousness, make friends for yourselves who, when you die, will receive you into heaven. He who is faithful in little things is faithful also in great things; and he who is unfaithful in little things is unfaithful also in great things. If you are not faithful stewards of money, so full of unrighteousness, who will entrust you with the true goods? And if you have not been faithful in that which is not yours, who will entrust to you that which is yours? There is no servant who can serve two masters, for he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be attached to the first and despise the second. In short, you cannot serve both God and money.” Hearing all these things, the Pharisees, who are lovers of money, mocked Jesus. But he said to them, “You pretend to be righteous before men; but God knows your hearts, and what is highly esteemed by men is detestable to God.”.
Word of the Lord
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Jesus“ message is not an earthly message. However, his message continues to be directed towards men and women on earth. We live in the world and here God came to become man. He did not come to reveal to us a human doctrine, but a divine one. A doctrine that goes beyond everything created, but without excluding it. A doctrine that, from here, leads us to Him. A doctrine that teaches us a new ”master“. Not external, alien or strange to us, but one who can live in us. A message that we can ”incarnate" in every instant. One that, although not earthly, has its efficacy in the heart of every man and woman here and now.
We can live this message full of hope. Jesus shows us: this message is not only to be enjoyed in the future life, we can live it now. We don't have to wait to get to heaven to know what goodness is. We don't have to wait for heaven to experience love. We don't have to wait to get to heaven to appreciate beauty.
In every instant we can touch eternity. Christ offers us his help to reach it. He accompanies us. He gives us the freedom to want it. We will live the fullness in heaven, but already on earth we can discover it. Dust and ashes will cease to be our masters. God will become the only motive of our heart.
«Riches are good when they are placed at the service of the neighbor, otherwise they are iniquitous. Therefore, money must serve, rather than rule. This is a key principle: money must serve rather than govern. Money is only a technical instrument of intermediation, of comparison of values and rights, of fulfillment of obligations and of savings. Like any technique, money does not have a neutral value, but acquires value according to the purpose and circumstances in which it is used».

Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.
Today I will live with the attitude of loving God and, in God, others at every moment.
