In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Christ, our King, Thy Kingdom come!

Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)

Grant that I may hear and live your Word, Lord.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)

From the Holy Gospel according to Luke 8:4-15

At that time, many people had gathered around Jesus, and as he passed through the towns, more joined him. Then he told them this parable:

“A sower went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some grains fell on the road, people stepped on them and the birds ate them. Others fell on stony ground, and when they sprouted, they dried up for lack of moisture. Others fell among thorns, and when the thorns grew up, they choked them. Others fell on good soil, grew and produced a hundredfold.” Having said this, he exclaimed, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”.

The disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean? And he answered them, ”To you it has been granted to know clearly the secrets of the kingdom of God; but to the rest, only in parables, so that seeing they may not see and hearing they may not understand.

The parable means this: the seed is the word of God. That which fell by the wayside represents those who hear the word, but then the devil comes and takes it away from their hearts, so that they neither believe nor are saved. That which fell on rocky ground represents those who, upon hearing the word, receive it with joy, but have no root; they are those who for a time believe, but at the moment of trial, fail. That which fell among thorns represents those who hear the word, but with the cares, riches and pleasures of life, they are choked and do not bear fruit. That which fell on good soil represents those who hear the word, keep it in a good and well disposed heart, and bear fruit by their constancy”.

Word of God.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel

I have been granted to receive and hear the Word of the Kingdom. The Lord has revealed to me His greatest secret: His love for me. Every word He speaks to me is filled with a message of love and a great desire to stay close to Him, to His heart.

The best way to respond to Christ's love is to listen to and live His Word. I must not allow his words to pass unnoticed in my life. I cannot be indifferent to his voice. Christ's message is always new, it never grows old. All I have to do is to welcome him into my heart, to be ready to receive his voice.

His voice does not seek to impose itself, but seeks to generate a dialogue, a relationship in which He and I are always united, attentive to what each has to say to the other.

«The lives of the many saints of our Churches are seeds of peace cast in those lands and blossoming in heaven. From there they support us on our journey towards full communion, a journey that God desires, a journey that asks us to proceed not according to the expediencies of the moment, but docile to the will of the Lord: that “all may be one”. He calls us, more and more, to a coherent witness of life and to a sincere search for unity. The seed of this communion, also thanks to your precious work, has sprouted and continues to be irrigated by the blood of the witnesses of unity, by the blood shed by the martyrs of our time: members of different Churches who, united by common suffering for the name of Jesus, now share the same glory.»

Dialogue with Christ

This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.

Purpose

Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.

Dedicate five minutes of my day to read a passage from the Gospel and share it with a family member.

Farewell

We thank You, Lord, for all Your benefits, You who live and reign forever and ever.

Amen.

Christ, our King!

Thy Kingdom come!

Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.

Pray for us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
