Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)

During these weeks of Easter, Lord, you have accompanied us, confirming us in faith and love, like your first disciples, before returning to the Father's House. Like them, I want you to give me the grace to dispose my heart to take root in you, in your infinite love, so that I may remain at your side and carry out the beautiful mission you have entrusted to me, the mission of bringing your Gospel to all those you have placed in my path.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to John 15:9-17

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so I love you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I keep my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one for his friends than this, that he lay down his life for them. You are my friends, if you do what I command you. I no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; I call you friends, for I have made known to you all that I have heard from my Father. It is not you who have chosen me; it is I who have chosen you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that the Father may grant you whatever you ask him in my name. This is what I command you, that you love one another”.

Word of the Lord.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel

How does the Father love you, Lord? Tell me about this love. I cannot imagine an infinite love..., but I certainly long for it, because no human love, no matter how great, can fill my heart.

Lord, help me to remain in your love. That pure love, which seeks the best for each one of us. To abide in your love, then, is to open myself to what you desire for me, to open myself to the plan you have dreamed for me from eternity?

I ask you to help me to enter into that whirlwind of love, in which we experience that infinite love and want to share it with one another. This is your will, your testament: that we love one another as you have loved us.

This has been your mission: to discover to us the Love of the Father. That Love that led you to give your life for us. This is also our mission: to love one another, as you have loved us. Help me, help us to remain in your love and to learn to give our lives for one another. In this way, our life will be fruitful, it will bear the fruit you have dreamed of.

«We are invited to celebrate this mysterious communion between God and his people, between God and us. The rain is a sign of his presence on the earth worked by our hands. A communion that always bears fruit, that always gives life. This trust springs from faith, knowing that we can count on his grace, which will always transform and water our land. A trust that is learned, that is educated. A trust that is developed in the heart of a community, in the life of a family. A trust that becomes a witness in the faces of so many who encourage us to follow Jesus, to be disciples of the One who never disappoints. The disciple feels invited to trust, feels invited by Jesus to be a friend, to share his lot, to share his life. “I do not call you servants, I call you friends because I made known to you all that I knew about my Father.” Disciples are those who learn to live in the trust of Jesus' friendship.». (Homily of H.H. Francis, July 12, 2015.).

Dialogue with Christ

This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.

Purpose

Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.

To look for an occasion in the day to show my love to someone, asking God that it be his love that I transmit.

Farewell

We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.

Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!

Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.
Pray for us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
