One of the outcomes of the General Assemblies of the consecrated women and consecrated laypeople, as well as the General Chapter of the Legionaries, was the election of the general directors. Nancy Nohrden was elected for the consecrated women and Félix Gómez Rueda for the consecrated laypeople for the 2026–2032 term. The Legionaries of Christ elected Fr. Carlos Gutiérrez, L.C. The three form the new General Governing Board of Regnum Christi, together with the laypeople who assist them, Horacio Gómez and David Zárate, as indicated in the Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation (cf. n. 76).
The text, which begins with the Easter greeting—“May the joy of the Risen Jesus and the experience of his love remain in your hearts and lead you to proclaim him to others”—frames the start of this new phase of leadership as a time of continuity and service, aimed at supporting and strengthening the life and mission of Regnum Christi.
A shared charism that drives the mission
The GDC remembers that the charisma of the Regnum Christi is a gift received, not something we possess: “None of us owns this gift; we are all its stewards and servants.” With this in mind, he reaffirms his responsibility to care fordand to promote our shared charismatic heritage.
In this context, it emphasizes that the mission involves all members, each according to their own vocation. Shared responsibility takes shape in the daily life of local communities, where sections, educational institutions, apostolates, parishes, and consecrated communities are invited to grow as communities of apostles at the service of the mission.
Easter: Go out and proclaim the Good News with conviction
The message places particular emphasis on the missionary zeal characteristic of Easter. Recalling the words of Pope Leo XIV: “Bring to everyone the joy of the risen Jesus, who is present among us” (Easter Message, April 5, 2026), it invites us to go out to meet people and proclaim the Gospel with conviction.
The General Directive College also encourages everyone to cultivate an apostolic spirit, avoiding passivity in the face of the urgent need for evangelization and promoting apostolic action that transforms the world around us through the witness of the mercy we have received.
A common reference point for this time
The letter highlights the importance of regularly referring back to the final document of the General Convention 2024 as a guide during this time. It offers concrete guidance on how to see the world through the eyes of Christ, live out evangelical discernment, and embrace missionary commitments.
The message concludes by expressing gratitude for the recent General Assemblies and General Chapter, as well as the dedication of the members, especially during the recent Holy Week missions.
It also extends special recognition to Fr. John Connor, LC, and Fr. Hernán Jiménez, L.C.,for his service to the General Directive College, and states this. new. stage in Mary’s hands, asking for her guidance and intercession for the mission.
Letter from the General Directive College
Thy Kingdom come!
Rome, April 21, 2026
Dear members of Regnum Christi:
Happy Easter! May the joy of the Risen Jesus and the experience of His love remain in your hearts and inspire you to proclaim Him to others.
As we begin this new stage of the General Directive College, we wish to address you with a clear and shared conviction: we are called to foster the evangelizing mission of Regnum Christi. We assume this service in continuity with the path already traveled, with the desire to accompany and strengthen what was set forth at the 2024 General Convention.
In our encounters with Pope Leo XIV, he told us that the charism that unites us is a gift of the Paraclete, given to the Church so that it may rekindle her life and energize her mission, both within the Church herself and in society.¹ None of us is the owner of this gift; all of us are its custodians and servants, called to devote our lives so that it may continue to bear fruit in the Church and in the world.² Guided by this shared sense of purpose, we seek to live our service of governance and the responsibility entrusted to us by the Statutes: to safeguard and promote our shared charismatic heritage.³
Easter invites us to renew that apostolic zeal. The Risen Christ does not call His disciples to celebrate inwardly, but to go forth: “Bring to everyone the joy of the Risen Jesus, present among us,” Pope Leo XIV reminds us.⁴ Therefore, we invite each of you to renew and continue forming your apostolic heart. We cannot hesitate in the face of the urgency of proclaiming the Gospel. We are called to sow the seed of the Kingdom, to go out and encounter people, and to transform our surroundings through apostolic action and the witness of the mercy we have received.
With this horizon in mind, we invite you to return again and again to the communiqué of the 2024 General Convention,⁵ which continues to be a point of reference for guiding our life and mission. In it we find concrete calls for this time: to look at the world with the eyes of Christ, to live evangelical and apostolic discernment, to make bold missionary choices, and to embrace the priorities that Regnum Christi has identified for this six-year period.
The co-responsibility for the mission and the charism belongs to all of us. Each reality that forms Regnum Christi, from its own identity, contributes with something specific to the mission we share. We invite you to ensure that in every locality, its diverse components—sections, educational works, apostolates, parishes, and consecrated communities—continue to be true communities of apostles at the service of the mission.⁶
We also wish to thank God for the graces received during the General Assemblies of the Consecrated Women and the Lay Consecrated Men, as well as during the General Chapter of the Legionaries of Christ. These have been moments of grace for the entire spiritual family. We also thank all the members of Regnum Christi who accompanied this time with their prayer and closeness.
Likewise, we express our sincere gratitude to Fr. John Connor, LC, for his generous service as a member of the General Directive College, and to Fr. Hernán Jiménez, LC, for the time in which he carried out this responsibility.
We are deeply grateful for the dedication of each one of you, especially those who participated in missions during Holy Week and those who supported them through prayer.
We entrust ourselves to Mary, Mother of the Apostles, asking her to accompany and sustain us in the mission.
The General Directive College and assisting lay members
