Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Lord, I come to meet with You at this time of prayer. Help me to quiet my worries and obligations, to discard the noise, plans, and dreams that prevent me from hearing You. I want to stay with You for a while and pay close attention to what You want to tell me today.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the holy Gospel according to Mark 16:15-20
At that time, Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever refuses to believe will be condemned. These are the signs that will accompany those who have believed: they will cast out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues, they will pick up snakes in their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” The Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. They went forth and preached the Gospel everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed their proclamation with the signs that followed.
Word of the Lord.
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
“If God is with us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) If we speak in His name, who can silence us? Everyone who has come to know God has a personal duty to share the treasure they have found.
It may be that, at some point, fear and a feeling of inability will invade us. When God asks us to go to all the world preaching His name, we will have to go to difficult places to travel. We will be compelled to walk, and sometimes to run in the midst of darkness. It may be that, at some point, we will not clearly see the path that gets lost and hides in the shadows, while our tired eyes search for a little light.
Running in the darkness is what God asks of us to transmit the light we carry within, because it depends on us to carry the light that has guided us. In the end, we are only carriers, so if we walk in darkness it is because we carry the light that has illuminated our lives and can illuminate those of others.
«And all this means humility. The fear of the Lord is humility. Only the little ones are capable of fully understanding the meaning of humility, the meaning of the fear of the Lord, because they walk before the Lord, always: they feel observed by the Lord, guarded by the Lord; they feel that the Lord is with them, that He gives them the strength to go forward. The little ones understand that they are a small shoot from a very large trunk, a shoot upon which the Holy Spirit comes.

Today I will try to speak with someone about the presence of the Holy Spirit in our mission of evangelizing.
