Thy Kingdom come!
Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
Jesus, thank you for this moment that you give me to be in your presence. I come before you laden with many things. You know where my feet have walked. You know very well the wounds in my heart. I do not want to hide anything from you. I wish to pour out all my past into your hands. All that I have been, am and will be, I place in your heart. You love me as I am. Give me the grace to experience this love You have for me in such a way that You make me a living sign of Your love for mankind. Amen.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 7, 21.24-27
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Whoever hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain came, the floods came down, the winds blew and beat against the house, but it did not fall, because it was built on rock. Whoever hears these words of mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came, and the floods came down, and the winds blew, and beat against that house, and swept it away completely”.
Word of the Lord
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Dearest soul:
I have told you that he who hears my words and lives them is like one who builds his house on rock.
I have not told you that whoever listens to my words and practices them will not have any difficulty and will be like a movie mansion where the sun always shines and the weather never changes. No. I know for a fact that life is difficult and there are hard moments when the waters overflow and everything seems to be against you.
Fear not. Come to Me. Make Me your rock, your support. Trust in Me. No matter how terrible the winds may seem, no matter how much the waters may rise, do not stop trusting in Me, listening to My voice and embodying it in your daily life. I love you. I will never stop. NEVER. I will not leave you alone... I have been, am and will be with you... if you allow me to....
Come. Here I wait for you.
Att. Jesus.
«God is not a distant and anonymous being: he is our refuge, the source of our serenity and our peace. He is the rock of our salvation, to which we can cling with the certainty of not falling; he who clings to God never falls! He is our defense against the evil that is always lurking. God is for us the great friend, the ally, the father, but we do not always realize it. We do not realize that we have a friend, an ally, a father who loves us, and we prefer to lean on immediate goods that we can touch, on contingent goods, forgetting, and sometimes rejecting, the supreme good, that is, the paternal love of God. To feel him as Father in this time of orphanhood is very important!».
(Homily of H.H. Francis, February 26, 2017).
Dialogue with Christ
This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.
Purpose
Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.
Today I will seek to live charity in my daily life by helping someone in a hidden way.
Farewell
Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!
