Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)

Jesus, good morning, thank you for this moment of intimacy with you. Here I am before you. I want to hear your voice, I want your words to resound in my heart. I want to love You, Jesus. Teach me to love You and to love others as You want me to love You. I desire to remain united to you. Do not abandon me or leave me alone. I need You. Help me never to leave Your side. And if I ever do, give me the grace to know that in your arms I will always find a loving refuge to which I can return.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to Luke 5, 1-11

At that time people were crowding around Jesus to hear the word of God, as he stood on the shore of the lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats standing by the shore; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets. He went into one of the boats, Simon's boat, and asked him to move it a little from the land. From the boat he sat down and taught the people. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch. Simon answered, ”Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the nets. So they set to work and made a haul of fish so large that the net burst. They beckoned to the partners in the other boat to come and lend them a hand. They came and filled the two boats, which were almost sinking. When Simon Peter saw this, he threw himself at Jesus“ feet, saying, ”Depart from me, for I am a sinner, O Lord. And astonishment had seized him and those who were with him, when they saw the haul of fish they had caught; and the same thing happened to James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were Simon's companions. Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be fishers of men.” And they drew their boats to land, and leaving everything, they followed him.

Word of the Lord.

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel

Beloved soul:

Come, don't be afraid. Go into the sea, leave the safety of the shore. I see you there, drying your nets after a long day, what have you caught? Nothing. I have seen your work of all night... of all your days: you have fought tooth and nail to be happy; you have killed yourself for the well-being of yourself and those you love; you have built a complex set of securities (money, affections, amusements...) putting your trust in them... and in the end none of it has given you the full happiness you longed for. Nothing has been able to fill that thirst for a love that will never end, for a happiness that will never end. You have tried to fill a void of infinity with an infinity of finite things... and you have not been able to; at most, you have inhibited the desire, but when the morning comes, after having worked so hard to achieve little or nothing, you realize that your longing for the eternal is still there.

Lift up your eyes, raise your gaze and realize that you are not made for this world, but for Me. Come, row out into the deep. I know you are tired, that you have tried everything and that your confidence has been tested. Do not worry. Come, try one more time, but this time with Me. Let go of your securities and trust in Me. I want to make you a great saint, I want to make you happy... I can do it, trust in Me!

Look higher. Do not be afraid to go where you have never gone. Do not be afraid to love! Widen your heart and let me love in you, live in you... let me form my image in you so that you may be a reflection of my light, a messenger of my peace... my fisher of men. I love you to make you happy and I need you to make others happy. Can I count on you?

«Whoever confesses Jesus knows that he must not only give opinions, but life; he knows that he cannot believe lukewarmly, but that he is called to “burn” for love; he knows that in life he cannot be content to “live for the day” or to settle into comfort, but that he must take the risk of going out into the deep, renewing the gift of himself every day.».
(Homily of H.H. Francis, June 29, 2017).

Dialogue with Christ

This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.

Purpose

Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.

Today I am going to work with all my effort to carry out that good activity that I have put aside, because of the effort involved, trusting and always with a smile.

Farewell

We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.

Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!

Most prudent Virgin, Mary, Mother of the Church.
Pray for us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
