Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)

Merciful Father, give me the strength to remain close to you in faithfulness.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to Mark 10:28-31

At that time Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, you see that we have left everything to follow you. Jesus answered him, ”Amen, I say to you, no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my sake and for the sake of the gospel, will fail to receive in this life a hundredfold in houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, together with persecutions, and in the next world eternal life. And many who are now first will be last, and many who are now last will be first.“.

Word of the Lord

Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel

Today's liturgy teaches that God's generosity surpasses man's generosity. Generosity that is evident in the face of Peter's impulsiveness in saying that they have left everything to follow Jesus; the immediate, clear and simple response of Jesus who says that those who have left everything for Him will receive a hundred times more than what they leave and, in the future, eternal life.

Leaving everything and following Christ is not easy, but the retribution is insurmountable. Now the question to solve is, how to follow Christ? The answer is simple, live to the fullest what He has called you to be, father, mother, daughter, religious, priest, etc. You will have difficult moments, there will be tears and suffering, but it will be temporary; you may feel that you are walking in darkness, but He is taking you by the hand; courage, eternal life awaits you.

May you learn and be guided by St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary, who left everything for God and today enjoy being close to Him.

«Today we are overwhelmed by words, by the rush of always having to say something, we are afraid of silence. How hard it is to listen to each other! To listen to each other to the end, to let others express themselves, to listen to each other in the family, to listen to each other at school, to listen to each other at work, and even in the Church! But for the Lord, above all, it is necessary to listen. He is the Word of the Father and the Christian is a child of listening, called to live with the Word of God at hand. Let us ask ourselves today if we are children of listening, if we find time for the Word of God, if we give space and attention to our brothers and sisters. If we know how to listen until the other can express himself until the end, without cutting his speech. Whoever listens to others also knows how to listen to the Lord, and vice versa. And he experiences something very beautiful, that is, that the Lord himself listens: he listens to us when we pray to him, when we trust in him, when we invoke him.
(Regina Caeli of H.H. Francis, May 8, 2022).
