Thy Kingdom come!
Preparatory prayer (to put me in the presence of God)
A new day. A new beginning... the same life... Today I opt for you again.
Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)
From the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 11:28-30
At that time, Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”.
Word of the Lord.
Meditate on what God tells you in the Gospel
Go to you, Lord... Go to you.
I cannot deny that this walk is tiring. I can't deny that the more I advance, the higher I climb, the more beautiful the view becomes, but... the more tired I get.
I go forward and I lose my vision, I lose my motivation and my capacity to surprise myself because I focus only on the road, on the climb, on the burden. I focus more on what I am leaving behind, on the time that has passed, what I have lost... what I have gained, and I forget the One who goes with me.
It is not a matter of moving forward, or backward; of walking, or running... but of traveling the road together with Someone; together with Him.
Is there fatigue? Yes. Are there burdens? Yes. There is no reason to deny them or avoid them; we must know that they are not what is really important, but what is important is to walk knowing that Someone shares my tiredness, that Someone goes with me by the hand. This is what is essential... this is the rest of my life.
To go to You, Lord... To go to You... is not to look at the weariness... is not to look at the burden; it is to know that You are with me.
«God saves us by making himself small, close and concrete. Above all, God makes himself small. The Lord, “meek and humble of heart,” prefers the little ones, to whom the Kingdom of God has been revealed; they are great in his eyes, and to them he directs his gaze. He prefers them because they are opposed to the “pride of life” that comes from the world. The little ones speak his own language: the humble love that sets free. That is why he calls simple and available people to be his spokesmen, and entrusts to them the revelation of his name and the secrets of his heart».
(Homily of H.H. Francis, July 28, 2016).
Dialogue with Christ
This is the most important part of your prayer, prepare yourself to talk with much love with the One who loves you.
Purpose
Propose a personal one. The one that involves the most love in response to the Beloved... or, if you believe that this is what God is asking of you, live what is suggested below.
I will go to Christ by humbly participating in a Eucharistic hour, placing my fatigue and burden in his hands.
Farewell
We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, you who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.
Christ, our King!
Thy Kingdom come!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
