World Youth Day comes with a packed program of activities

July 31 to August 6: WYD in Lisbon

Young people from all over the world will arrive in Lisbon to share in the central events. Among them, the catechesis of the bishops, the opening Mass, the welcome to Pope Francis, the youth festival, the vocations meeting, the confessions, and the central events with the Pope: the Stations of the Cross, the Vigil on Saturday and the concluding Mass on Sunday.

Tuesday, August 1st

8:30-12:30 a.m.: International Regnum Christi meeting - A morning together all the young people of Regnum Christi who came to WYD. A morning to sing, pray and share the joy of wanting to meet Jesus.

The Meeting will take place at the Parque da Quintas das Conchas e dos Lilases, in Lisbon. The entrance is through gates 1 and 2 of the park, next to the subway exit “Quinta das Conchas”. And the program is as follows:

8:30 - 9:30: Welcome, handing out of Regnum Christi WYD Kit
9:45-10:45: Eucharistic Hour. Anima Kenosis RC Spain. Blessing with the Blessed Sacrament
10:45-11:15: Break and snack
11:15 - 12:30: Concert. RC Music collective. FT Kairós
12:30: Farewell and departure

9:00 a. m. - 4:00 p.m. City of Joy, Regnum Christi booth, vocation and confession fair at the Parque del Perdón - The City of Joy is the name of the place that links the Vocations Fair and the Park of Forgiveness and will be available from August 1 to 4. During the four days of the Vocations Fair, young people will be able to attend talks and testimonies, come into contact with different movements, associations, communities, religious orders and social projects. Among them, Regnum Christi will have its own stand. The Forgiveness Park is a space for personal and community reconciliation, with 150 confessionals. Here, pilgrims will be able to receive the sacrament of reconciliation with priests of various nationalities and in different languages.

7:00 p. m.: WYD Opening Mass - It will be presided over by the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon, Manuel José Macário do Nascimento Clemente, at the Colina do Encuentro, Parque Eduardo VII.

Wednesday, August 2nd

Tomorrow: Meetings Rise up, catechesis with the bishops.
9:00 a. m. - 4:00 p.m. City of Joy, Regnum Christi booth, vocation and confession fair at the Park of Forgiveness.

Thursday, August 3rd

Tomorrow: Rise up meetings, catechesis with the bishops.
9:00-16:00 hrs. City of Joy, Regnum Christi stand, vocation and confession fair at the Park of Forgiveness.
17:45 hrs., Welcoming Ceremony with Pope Francis - At the Colina do Encuentro, Parque Eduardo VII.

Friday, August 4th

Tomorrow: Meetings Rise up, catechesis with the bishops.
9:00 a. m. - 4:00 p.m. City of Joy, Regnum Christi booth, vocation and confession fair at the Park of Forgiveness.
6:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross with the Pope - In the Edward VII Park.
