On March 12, the 25th anniversary of the foundation of Regnum Christi in Guatemala was celebrated. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Territorial Direction College of Mexico and Central America sent a message to all the members of the locality to join in their joy.
Dennis Doren, LC, local director of Regnum Christi in Guatemala sent a message through social networks in which he thanked “God for the presence, dedication and generosity of so many Legionaries, consecrated, consecrated and members of Regnum Christi in these years”.
As part of the celebration, Romeo Recinos and Pablo Simán, published a video in which they give an overview of the history of Regnum Christi in Guatemala, where they recall the first attempts to bring Regnum Christi to Guatemala in the late eighties, its subsequent foundation by Margarita and Pedro Molina, and many of the anecdotes and members who have made possible this great work in Guatemala.
Finally, on March 13, in the Immaculate Conception Chapel, a Mass of thanksgiving for these 25 years was held. The celebration was presided over by Bishop Raúl Martínez, auxiliary bishop of Guatemala, and some of the members of the locality participated in it, applying the protocols of healthy distance.
In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the local apostolates remain active under the direction of Fathers Dennis Doren, LC and Oscar Cabello, LC, who since last year also frequently visit COVID patients in the hospitals, giving hope and spiritual accompaniment to the sick and medical personnel.
