On May 31, 2023, the day of the Visitation of Our Lady to her cousin St. Elizabeth, the Regnum Christi Federation celebrates its fourth anniversary since the Holy See erected it and approved its Statutes.
With the pontifical approval of May 31, 2019, the Church will recognized the Regnum Christi as a way at its core for men to meet God. In this same act, provided it with a structure legal in the form of a «federation», as a a sure way to preserve the charisma and for grow in the spiritual, apostolic and community spheres. For this reason, Bishop José Rodríguez Carballo said that the Federation Regnum Christi family is, above all, a «structure of communion».» (Cart. de May 31, 2019) which gives juridical expression, therefore, concrete and tangible, so to speak, to «the unity and fraternal communion of the members of the spiritual family» (Decree of canonical approval, May 31, 2019). In this way, the pontifical approval strengthens the moral unity and the spiritual communion and mission that already exists, but lacked adequate legal support.
Today the General Direction College sent a letter to all Regnum Christi members of the different vocations where it mentions that, «as we celebrate this fourth anniversary, we find ourselves on the road of preparation for the first General Convention of Regnum Christi scheduled to take place between April 29 and May 4, 2024. To beto the first regular convention of the Regnum Christi & places us on the path of synodality that the Church is following under the guidance of Pope Francis. It places us in the key of mission in today's world and society in which we live: we seek to listen, among all, to the voice of the Lord who invites us, according to our specific charism, to make Christ present in the midst of the needs of the world and of the Church».
«Listen to. We want this journey to transform us into men and women of listening. To learn to live listening to the Holy Spirit, to what the Lord is showing us day by day in contact with people and with the realities that present themselves to us, so that Christ may reign, and in the encounter with them reveal to them the love of His Heart,» the letter adds.
«May the Holy Spirit, whose feast we celebrated on May 28, grant us a prayerful heart that knows how to see what reality tells us, to listen to what we are called to and to respond to what the Lord asks of us in order to live more fully our life and our mission from the Heart of Christ the Apostle,» he concludes.
