A life of dedication to others

Rogelio Mendiola Moreno (1970-2020)

Rogelio Mendiola Moreno, who was a member of the Human Capital area in the office of the Territorial Administration of Regnum Christi Mexico and Central America, passed away on June 25. The news was disseminated through internal media and an electronic communication from the Human Capital area.

“Roger collaborated with us for more than 20 years in the Human Capital area, where in addition to his work he gave us the gift of his joy in organizing Masses and events, he shared with us his fervor for the virgin and filled our office with beautiful flowers.” It reads as part of the electronic communication.

Roger, as he was known, was a man who lived to foster a life of prayer, sacramental and charity in the offices in which he participated. He organized missions for professionals and in December he collected clothes, blankets and toys to personally deliver to the poorest of the poor in some towns and neighborhoods.

He gave witness as a collaborator faithful to his work, to his Catholic faith and in service to the Movement. In his celibate life he took care of two nephews whom he brought up in academics and values. He took care of his mother and father.

At the end of March of this year, his mother died peacefully at home. In June he contracted COVID-19, which was complicated by his diabetes and he had to be hospitalized. His father was also infected and passed away a few days ago.

His life witness, his work and the love he gave to his family, to the most needy people, in his work with the TA and for Regnum Christi, invites us to reflect on the enormous good that a consecrated woman, a legionary or a consecrated lay person does with her witness, with her authentic closeness. For Roger, this environment nourished and motivated him to do good in silence and humility. This is part of the mission of Regnum Christi in all the realities where it is present: to become a favorable place for the best of each person to come out and to encourage and motivate them to do so.

Through this medium we express our condolences to her family, accompany her with our prayers and pray to God for her eternal rest, while encouraging the entire Regnum Christi family to continue working to transmit the joy of the Gospel.
