Fernando de Navascués, Permanent Missionary at Spain, he carries out his apostolic work in the ocommunication office Regnum Christi in the territory & is professor at the Francisco de Vitoria University. In the context of All Saints“ Day and All Souls” Day celebrations, it invites us to look at holiness through the radical transformation of the heart, to go beyond customs to live as "light of the world.".
The celebration of the Solemnity of All Saints and the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed in November reminds us that we are called to live in holiness, a profound union with God that transforms our lives and brings hope to the world. This call is shared for everyone, as the Second Vatican Council emphasized, “whether they already belong to the Hierarchy or are directed by it”, we are all called to holinessLumen Gentium, 39). This year, which coincides with the recent General Convention of the Regnum Christi, resounds furthermore in this divine invitation the made of be “communities of apostles on mission. That is to say, our holiness has a lot to do with how I live my Christian vocation alongside my brothers. In Dilexit us, Pope Francis reminds usalso that Heart of Christ, in “bringing us to the Father, you send us to our brothers” (163).
In the words of Jesus, “sbe perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”Mt 5, 48), we find a promise: God's grace empowers us to grow in virtue and charity. Of sorts, it is the central message of the encyclical from Pope Francis: through His Sacred Heart, God himself it gives us direct access to his human and divine love, a love capable of touching everyone's heart. Living in holiness implies a radical transformation towards the heart of God.
To be saints in communion
The call to holiness also implies co-responsibility. In the recent General Convention of Regnum Christ, the importance was highlighted from going from “the dependence of consecrated vocations a received charisma powered by all”. Pope Francis says that “dear loved ones and place all your trust in that love (of the Sacred Heart) it doesn't mean canceling all our delivery capabilities, it doesn't mean giving up the unstoppable desire to give some response from our small and limited capabilities” (Dilexit us 164). Therefore, our holiness cdear members of the Regnum Christi, goes through walk together, building each other up in faith, and being witnesses of Christ's love in the world.
In the current context, marked by the challenge of Halloween, the call to live holiness takes on special meaning. Beyond the customs that celebrate darkness, Christians we are called to be “light of the world”Mt 5,14), to celebrate the light.
