Anahuac University project presented to Bishop of Orizaba

On Monday, December 7, the project for the Anáhuac University, Córdoba-Orizaba Campus, which will begin operations in the August 2021 school year, was presented to Msgr. Eduardo Cervantes Merino, Bishop of Orizaba. The presentation was led by Fr. Guillermo Romo, L.C., Fr. Juan Antonio Torres, L.C., Mr. Juan Miguel Bueno, president of the board, Mr. Carlos Ochoa, and Fr. Antonio Vargas, L.C.

At the meeting, Anáhuac University's work plan was presented, concerning pastoral action and Catholic formation for students and teachers. The Bishop was also informed that there is a common core of subjects in the humanities and Catholic formation areas, regardless of the students' chosen major.

“It is going to be a great help to the entire region, as the offer is open to all the charisms of the movements,” mentioned Monsignor Eduardo during the meeting, and he recalled the positive impact that doing social work in the remote areas of the diocese, where there are many needy people, would represent, specifically with medical services, since Anáhuac University has a Medicine program.

On the other hand, he reiterated his openness to movements present in the diocese, specifically to the Regnum Christi movement, which has adjusted and integrated into the programs of the diocesan pastorals.

After the meeting, Fr. Juan Antonio Torres, L.C., Local Director of Regnum Christi, commented that Msgr. Cervantes received positively the arrival of Anáhuac University Campus Córdoba-Orizaba to the region, as well as the apostolic work carried out by the local community in the diocese of Orizaba.
