«Yes to Christ, forever» - Celina Romero pronounces her final vows as a consecrated woman of Regnum Christi

Celina Romero pronounces her final vows as a consecrated member of Regnum Christi

On August 13, Celina Romero Becerril's final votes were cast, consecrated of the Regnum Christi in Mexico.

Luis Alberto Tirado Becerril, MSpS (Missionary of the Holy Spirit) and Celina's cousin, reflected on the Virgin Mary's acceptance of God's will. With the same words with which the angel greeted Mary, he addressed Celina during the Gospel reflection:

“Rejoice Celina, the Lord is with you! He has accompanied you throughout your life, he has seduced you and you let yourself be seduced. Remember that consecrated life is the gift that God gives to the Church to manifest the goal of every Christian being, because the Lord wants to establish a personal union with each one of us.”.

A friendship with Christ

Celina Romero met the Regnum Christi Consecrated Sisters in a providential way, when a physical education teacher at Godwin High School invited her to become a soccer coach at the school.

She was very attracted to their joy and their way of life, with which they transmitted Jesus in a very peculiar way. Thanks to the witness and apostolic activities of the consecrated women, she began to have a relationship with Jesus and to question her vocation.

For Celina, the emission of her final vows is a reason for great joy, as she feels very fortunate and grateful to God for having set his gaze on her.

“God's will is that we be happy and He is the first interested in us finding the place where He has thought of us from all eternity” (Celina Romero).

In order to take this step, it was very important to be close to the people who accompanied her in her vocational discernment, in addition to prayer and sacramental life.

Living the mission as a consecrated woman

Taking her vows in Mexico has been a gift for her, as it is the place where her faith grew, where her family and friends live and who accompanied her in this special moment.

Celina is originally from Mexico City. She studied pedagogy and a master's degree in human resources administration at the Universidad Intercontinental. She met the consecrated women of Regnum Christi in 2013 where she was working as a soccer coach, at the Godwin Institute, she became associated with Regnum Christi in 2014; at the end of that year, she entered the candidacy at the formation center in Monterrey. She was consecrated in 2016. She left to do pastoral work in Guadalajara for three years, she spent a year at the Inter-American school collaborating in the ECYD and two years as a secondary school training instructor in the Cumbres College. She then continued her formation in Madrid, where she spent three years studying for a bachelor's degree in Religious Sciences at the Ecclesiastical University of San Damaso. Recently she has been assigned for the next 3 years to the city of Guadalajara to collaborate in the Colegio Cumbres as a formation instructor in secondary school.
