From August 5 to 27, in Santa María Teotepec, the “Initial Training Course” was held for the Regnum Christi collaborators In the midst of a year of uncertainty due to the pandemic in Mexico, a group of 27 young people decided to give a year as collaborators of Regnum Christi.
In order to conduct the course in the midst of the pandemic, the team of trainers comprised of Pablo Beuchat, consecrated layperson of Regnum Christi, parents legionaries of Christ Ignacio Bello, Manuel Cervantes, Pablo Solís and Alejandro de la Garza, and Daniel Bizzo, developed a plan of sanitary measures following all the indications of the health sector. The training provided in the course had to be adapted to the current circumstances and the particular way in which they will carry out their mission during this year.
The workshop focused mainly on the identity of the collaborator. It was divided into 3 main stages:
- Introductory course: Introspection, inner and outer dispositions, self-knowledge.
- Young Catholic: Anthropology, catechism, Bible, human formation.
- Apostle of the Kingdom: Regnum Christi, ECYD, evangelization, oratory and preaching, section life.
In addition, there were some intensive workshops such as prayer and the collaborator's mission, and mystical talks on holiness, lay vocation, the fleetingness of life, existential questions, the situation of the world today, youth, among other topics. There were also testimonies of former collaborators, walks in the mountains and various activities of conviviality.
Towards the end of the course, the employees were presented with the continuous training plan for the year they will be serving, which includes a diploma course on business ethics with the VALIA Center, In addition, there will be “Regnum Christi Formation” sessions, personalized accompaniment and a new evaluation system. In addition, there will be the traditional formative activities during the year: summit in the first semester, 7-day retreat, Christmas fellowship, summit in the second semester and the day of discernment.
