After years of a process of renewal at the hands of the Church and the implementation of the Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation approved by the Holy See, the consecrated branches of the Legionaries of Christ, the Consecrated Women and the Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi begin their respective General Chapters and General Assemblies on January 20.
This was the first time that the supreme bodies of the consecrated branches of Regnum Christi met after the approval of the Regnum Christi Federation constituted by them.
The delegates and capitulars prepared for their respective Assemblies with some spiritual exercises. Ahead, almost a month in which they will have to confront and discern on the themes that have been reflected on in the communities and territories for months, as well as on any topic that they decide to put on the table.
New Governments
In addition, each of the three consecrated branches will elect a new government, since the terms of office of the current governments are now coming to an end, which will have a direct impact on the government of Regnum Christi as a whole, since the General Board of Directors of the Federation is made up of the Directors General of the three consecrated branches, assisted by two lay people (who were appointed last September for six years).
By the proper law of each of the three consecrated branches, these meetings are organized ordinarily every six years. On this occasion, the meetings begin on Monday, January 20, and both the Legionaries and the Consecrated Women are scheduled to conclude their respective meetings on February 27. The Consecrated Laity, on the other hand, begin on January 29 and are scheduled to finish on February 15.
