«I find it a blessing and a gift to discover my family in its fullness» - Carmela narrates how she is living these days of mandatory confinement.

I find it a blessing and a gift to discover my family in its fullness.

Carmela is a girl in the youth section of the Regnum Christi of Barcelona. She is studying nursing and is responsible for the ECYD at the Alpes Club. Account to Lo+RC She tells us, among other things, how she and her family are living these days of confinement: “If I am honest, I still don't know what God's plan is in this situation, but I know that He is going to make us grow in love, to unite us as a family and to love as He loves.

*****

They say that God's plans are not our plans, I totally agree, I don't think it would have ever occurred to me to lock myself in my house for 30 days to rediscover my family.

If I am honest, I still don't know what God's plan is in this situation, but I know that He will make us grow in love, unite us as a family and love as He loves. With this, I am not saying that we don't have a falling out from time to time, or that we agree on everything, or that what I most want to do right now is to help my sister with her homework, or to collaborate in things around the house.

But I believe that the quarantine is bringing out the best in each one of us, that it is helping us to know ourselves in depth in all aspects, and that many times the hustle and bustle of our daily life does not allow us to do so, work, schools, university, driving license, friends, private classes, Eucharistic adoration, my ECYD and Kingdom team, my choir group... all this, which I miss so much now, the freedom to come and go whenever we wanted....

A few days ago we didn't have time to get to know each other, but now I find it a blessing and a gift to know my family in its fullness.

It is precious to be able to see the expression of peace on my father's face when we pray the rosary as a family; to see how my grandmother enjoys the fact that we can participate with her in the mass at home; the gift of being able to consecrate ourselves all to Our Lady of Fatima, it is impressive to hear my sister's laughter and see Jesus in her eyes; Playing the guitar together or playing cards with my brothers, watching a movie together, it is a gift to be able to spend 24 hours with my five favorite people in the world, because I have discovered that those five people are not only my family, they are part of my way to heaven.

Little by little and with patience, we turn small frictions into hugs, quarrels into laughter... But, above all, the only thing that keeps us united (apart from the obligatory confinement) is God.

We have been at home for a few days now and I don't know how many family rosaries we will have, how many masses through the screen, how many little discussions and how many long laughs, I don't know how many days we have left... I can only say that blessed quarantine that has made me discover that the one who makes my family great, is called Christ and lives in us.
