Father Héctor Quintana, L.C., new delegate for the Bajío and Western Region appointed

On May 20 of this year, Fr. Hector Quintana, L.C., was appointed Territorial Vicar for the Legionaries of Christ in the territory of Monterrey and as delegate for the apostolate of Regnum Christi for the Bajio-Occidente region which includes the localities of: Guadalajara North, Guadalajara South - Colima, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Leon, Irapuato - Celaya, San Luis Potosi, Culiacan - Mochis - Cabos.

The territorial college of Monterrey appoints two delegates: one for each region of the territory. The delegate for the apostolate has authority over the local apostolate directors. Through them, he also exercises authority over the Regnum Christi sections, the ECYD clubs and the local apostolates.

Its main functions:

  1. To develop, implement and follow up on the Strategic Plan and the annual apostolic program of the territory;
  2. Evaluate the performance of the common apostolic mission in each locality, proposing the measures deemed necessary to the Territorial Board of Directors;
  3. Propose to the Board of Directors the specific apostolic actions to be followed in the localities according to the approved strategic plan;
  4. Collect the proposals of the personnel needs of the common mission, in communication with the local directors, superiors, community directors and directors of the communities to present them to the Board of Directors;
  5. Mediating / arbitrating local conflicts.

It also supports the College of Directors in communion, attention to directors and vocation ministry.

We share a brief biographical sketch of Fr. Héctor Quintana, L.C.

Father Héctor Quintana Juárez, L.C. was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on October 28, 1977. On September 15, 1998, he entered the novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Monterrey, Mexico. Later he transferred to the novitiate of Bad Münstereifel in Germany. He studied classical humanities in Salamanca, Spain. He studied philosophy and spiritual theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. He was ordained a priest on December 24, 2010 in Rome. During his life in the Legion he has carried out his apostolic work in vocational and youth ministry in Mexico, as director of youth section in Aguascalientes and Zacatecas, he has been a formator of theologians at the International College of the Legionaries of Christ in Rome. Since 2018 he has been community superior and director of the ladies section in Hermosillo and local director of Regnum Christi in Sonora. A year ago he began to be Territorial Councilor.
