The Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi have elected the new government for the next six-year term, 2020-2026. Voting took place throughout the day on February 11. With these appointments, the mandate of Gloria Rodriguez and her councilors, Paula Errazuriz, Viviana Limon, Maria del Carmen Avila, Denise Funke, Cristina Danel, and the General Treasurer, Beatriz Pimentel, comes to an end. The consecrated women of Regnum Christi thank those who are finishing their term in the General Government for their generous and selfless dedication during these crucial years for the canonical configuration of the Society of Apostolic Life and the configuration of Regnum Christi as a whole.
The new government has been formed as follows:
- Nancy Nohrden, The 46-year-old American has been elected chief executive officer.
- Elena Bartolomé, The 45-year-old Spanish-born, is the first councilor and vicar general.
- Eugenia Álvarez, a 39-year-old Venezuelan, is the second general counselor.
- Africa Pemán, The 55-year-old Spaniard is the third general counselor.
- Viviana Limón, a 41-year-old Mexican woman, is the fourth general counselor.
- Jacinta Curran, a 59-year-old Irishwoman, is the fifth general counsel.
The General Assembly has decided, with the approval of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, that the General Treasurer will be elected by the Director General with the consent of her Council, having heard the opinion of the territorial directors.
General Manager: Nancy Nohrden
Nancy Nohrden was born on February 4, 1974 in Bellevue, a town near Seattle, Washington. She grew up in Southern California and completed her undergraduate studies in Massachusetts. She went on to earn a B.A. in philosophy at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, and worked in a law firm. He was consecrated in 1998, at the age of 24. After three years of formation, his first apostolate was vocation promotion in Germany for five years. From 2007 to 2011 he worked with young Regnum Christi lay people in Saint Louis, Missouri. In 2011 she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, as director of formation in. Pinecrest Academy and was named director of the Atlanta community of consecrated women in 2012. Since November 25, 2012, she has been territorial director of the consecrated women in North America, with her headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. She served on the Regnum Christi North America Territorial Committee from 2014-2019, and was vice president of the Regnum Christi Federation's territorial board of directors since September 15, 2019. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership at the. Spring Arbor University.
First councilor and vicar general: Elena Bartolomé
Elena was born in Barcelona, Spain, on April 29, 1975. She studied Architecture at the Escola Técnica Superior de Arquitectura del Vallés,She was a Regnum Christi collaborator from 1999 to 2001 while she was completing her final year project.
She was consecrated on September 29, 2001. In her first years of consecrated life she was formator at Cerro del Coto, manager of the Mirasierra community and assistant director of the school. Highlands School El Encinar, She worked in Madrid, Spain, between 2006 and 2009. She then spent six years in Barcelona in the youth section and supporting the youth ministry of the diocese, in the Santa Isabel school as a formation instructor and was also director of the community. She was councilor of the Territorial Government of the consecrated women of Spain between 2013 and 2015.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and Development from the Anahuac University, and Religious Sciences for the Regina Apostolorum Athenaeum. She is specialized in psychopedagogy by the Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina, and has a Master's degree in spiritual accompaniment.
From 2015 to the present she has been territorial director of the Consecrated Sisters of Regnum Christi in Brazil.
Second general counselor: Eugenia Álvarez
Eugenia Alvarez was born on August 16, 1980 in Caracas, Venezuela and was consecrated on August 21, 1999. She is the youngest of 6 siblings.
She joined Regnum Christi as a young laywoman in 1996 and was a collaborator in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 1998 to 1999. After her consecration in 1999, she did two years of formation in Monterrey. Her apostolic experience has been in the pastoral care of adolescents and in the field of spiritual accompaniment.
He began his apostolate in Mexico City in the pastoral care of adolescents. He went to Chile in 2005, where he also dedicated himself to the pastoral care of adolescents and youth.
In 2012 she was assigned to France as director of the community of consecrated women in Paris, studied the canonical licentiate in Spiritual Theology at the. Sevres Center,of the Society of Jesus. In 2017 he began to collaborate in the catechesis of the parish sant Honoré d'Eylau. She is currently studying for a Master's degree in Spiritual Exercises in the University of Comillas,also of the Society of Jesus.
Prior to her appointment as general councilor, she was the director of the community of consecrated women of Regnum Christi in Paris and councilor of the Government of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi in the European territory.
Third Councilor-at-Large: Africa Pemán
África Pemán was born in Cádiz, Spain on September 14, 1965 and was consecrated on November 24, 1985.
He began studying law at the University of Cadiz,She has a bachelor's degree in Education and Development from the University of the Philippines, but left them incomplete when she decided to consecrate herself as a consecrated Regnum Christi member. She has a Bachelor's degree in Education and Development from the Anahuac University, Religious Sciences for the Regina Apostolorum Athenaeum and a Master's degree in Accompaniment by the Francisco de Vitoria University.
She has apostolic experience in the pastoral care of adolescents, in the direction of educational centers, and in the formation and government of consecrated women. She has developed her apostolic activity in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Spain.
Between 1985 and 1988 he was in training in Rome. Between 1988 and 1996 he was in the ECYD in Rome. Between 1996 and 1999 she was in the youth section of Guadalajara, Mexico. From 1999 to 2005 she was director of the Colegio Del Bosque, Mexico City. Between 2005 and 2012 she was director of Highlands School El Encinar, Madrid, Spain. She was territorial director of the consecrated women of Chile between 2012 and 2018. She has completed a higher course in St. John of the Cross at the University of Mysticism in Avila, Spain. The last year and a half she has been in Madrid, Spain, as a formator at the international formation center for consecrated women Cerro del Coto.
Fourth general counselor: Viviana Limón
Viviana Limón was born in Mexico City on August 18, 1978. She was a member of ECYD, a Regnum Christi laywoman, and a collaborator in Madrid, Spain, between 2001 and 2002. She holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Mexico. Anahuac University of the North. She was consecrated in Regnum Christi on August 22, 2002. She completed her formation in Madrid, Spain. She was assistant director of the Academy Le Châtelard and director of the youth section of Regnum Christi in Montreux, Switzerland.
From 2007 to 2012 she was the director of the community of consecrated women and director of the youth section of Regnum Christi in Paris, France. During this period, in addition to the work carried out within the sections and apostolates of Regnum Christi, she carried out a varied pastoral activity collaborating with the Archdiocese of Paris and the Diocese of Nanterre in Catholic schools under diocesan tutelage. From 2007 to 2010 she worked in Brussels, Belgium, with Catholic formation programs for youth, adolescents and School for Parents. In July 2012, she was appointed territorial responsible for the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi in Europe, until she was elected general councilor by the December 2013 Assembly. She was a member of the Commission for the revision of the General Statutes of Regnum Christi, and in charge of the area of Life and Mission in the General Government of Regnum Christi.
Fifth Councilor-at-Large: Jacinta Curran
Jacinta Curran was born in Dublin, Ireland on April 4, 1960 and was consecrated on July 21, 1979. She was a member of the ECYD and Regnum Christi, which he has known since 1975. He studied psychology at the University College Dublin and received her degree in 1981. After two years of training in Rome, she went to the United States where she founded the Overbrook Academy in 1984 and was the first director for six years. Subsequently, she was stationed in Mexico City where she directed the Irish Institute for eight years. She spent five years in Vienna, Austria, as director of the community of consecrated women and coordinator of the apostolate in the Central European territory. She went to Seville, Spain, as director of the community for ten years and directed the school. Highlands School Seville for nine years. Jacinta is currently territorial director of the Consecrated Sisters of Regnum Christi in the territory of Western and Eastern Europe since 2014.
