In Venezuela, two Mano Amiga graduates and one professor on the honor roll of the Metropolitan University

Mano Amiga Venezuela graduates in honors at the Metropolitan U.

Mano Amiga Mariches (Venezuela) celebrates two of its graduates: Gitanjaly Reyes, a psychology student, and Richard De Jesús, who is studying Law and Liberal Studies at the same time, since they have just been recognized in the honor roll of the Universidad Metropolitana de Caracas, where they are studying thanks to a scholarship. The celebration also extends to Mano Amiga La Montaña, since its former student Nazareth Crusco, who is currently a professor at this institution, while studying education at the same university on scholarship, will also receive this award.

“Today we have gathered here students who have not only been academically excellent, but who have participated in university life both on campus and in the society in which they live. Many of them have also left the name of the Metropolitan University as high as the name of a university can be internationally. We figure in the intellectual sphere of the world because we have students like you,” said the dean of students, Migdalia Montes de Oca during the recognition ceremony.

More than just high school graduates, Mano Amiga seeks to form integral, professional men and women, capable of forming good families that can transform their environment. Of the 1,200 graduates of Mano Amiga in Venezuela, 320 are already professionals and more than 300 are pursuing university studies, 24 of them with scholarships at the Universidad Metropolitana.

Aware of the great challenges they face at the university, due to the difficulty of meeting basic needs such as transportation, food, clothing and even Internet, coupled with the social problems that have impoverished a large sector of the population, Mano Amiga seeks to continue supporting and accompanying its graduates in their professional training with various initiatives, among them is working on a pilot project of university residence. All these efforts seek to continue opening doors so that, like Gitanjaly, Richard and Nazareth, many other young people have the opportunity to transform their lives and be a source of pride, not only for Mano Amiga, but also for society.
