Consecrated Laity of Regnum Christi - Issuance of temporary vows by Daniel Bizzo

Issuance of temporary votes by Daniel Bizzo

On August 9, 2020, Daniel Bizzo Brandt made his temporary vows as a member of the Board of Directors. Consecrated Laity of Regnum Christi, Alberto Simán, LC, territorial director of the Inter-American Cultural Center (CCI) in Tlalpan. Legionaries of Christ of the territory of Mexico and Central America.

Born in 1997 in Brazil, Daniel was Regnum Christi collaborator in the 2017-2018 academic year, in Mexico City, where he met and lived with some consecrated laity of Regnum Christi, finding there a particular call to a life of full dedication to others through the consecrated vocation.

Alberto Simán spoke about the ways in which God calls his disciples to serve him: “You, like Elijah, have literally covered your face and come out of the cave to meet God. Surely Elijah feared, but he comes out of the cave to meet God and like you who are saying today «here I am» in front of all of us and those who see you on the outside, perhaps with difficulties, perhaps with fears too; and yet, like Elijah, you cover your face, but you come out of the cave to meet God and you can say with confidence «I want to, here I am».”.

He also invited Daniel to always keep in mind three attitudes that are manifested throughout the Scriptures: the first one is the trust; The second is the petition; and the third the performanceFirst of all, Peter trusts, believes in Jesus and trusts in Him, the first attitude underlying all that we do and all that we are. As consecrated men and women, as Christians and in a particular way as members of Regnum Christi, we have had and will have to trust a lot in God's action“.

Regarding the second attitude, he reflected: “Peter asks, Peter pleads: «command me to come to you walking on the waters». Peter is bold in his faith and asks, pleads”.

Finally, he explained about the third attitude: “Pedro acts. He does not stand idly by waiting for the storm to calm down. He gets out of the boat and walks on the turbulent, agitated waters and yet Peter gets out of the boat, like Elijah comes out of the cave, and walks on the waters and that is the action that we are seeing today in you, Daniel, you have gotten out of the boat and you are walking on the turbulent waters, the insecurity, the fear that is going to come, in the hands of God, like Peter”.

Finally, José Mateos, Territorial Director of the Regnum Christi Consecrated Laity addressed a few words to those present, thanking God and the parents of Daniel, Fernando and Patricia, as well as the people who followed the live transmission because of the restrictions due to the health contingency.

“In particular, I would like to thank Daniel Bizzo because he has trusted at a time when it is not easy to trust, in the face of all the external elements, in something that is so uncertain. And to have so much confidence in an inner call, in a promise from God, which cannot materialize many times; and yet to continue trusting. And to thank Him the way you do: with great joy and with great faith.

In front of us we have a Christ with open arms, there is a Virgin with open arms and I believe that the attitude to live what you are beginning today is with open arms. Christ has his arms open as a sign of protection, of blessing; and Mary has them open as a sign of receptivity and in this aspect Mary teaches us a lot: to have the confidence that He is the one who does everything, that we have to open ourselves to the grace of God and let Him be the one who builds your consecrated life”.

“I was really very happy when I discovered that God was calling me to this vocation, until I got to this point of getting on my knees and making my consecration and saying «Lord, it's for you, let's live one life now the two of us,» Daniel mentioned at the end of the celebration in which he professed his temporary vows for three years as a Consecrated Layman in the Regnum Christi family.
